WOW post. So I read your WOW post and just wanted to let you know that WoW is HIGHLY addictive. Its very easy to get sucked in and never come out of the World of Warcraft coma to eat or spend time with the family.

Big Secret, Super Update...

So, people have been pressing on me to get out here and make an update. It's not that I haven't had the time, just more so that I play a lot of Battlefield 2. Irregardless of explanations I've decided that it's most important to do an update because of how important an issue it is:

MELISSA IS PREGNANT!?!!

Five times. I'm not sure how the science of all this works, but I imagine that we'll either end up with a boy, a girl, or a sea bass. Hopefully not the latter.

Okay, so that wasn't the big secret. Melissa isn't actually pregnant, but will be one day; and then we'll have a wonderful little family. Yay!

So, what actually is my good news? Drum roll... I might become a youth pastor!

I was sitting at work one day, the day before I was to sign onto the job I currently have, when out of the blue my English teacher from high school writes me an email telling me that I have to apply for the position at her church. How she wouldn't want anybody else teaching her children, and perfectly suited I am for the position.

It was a crazy proposition, and one I wasn't all too sure Melissa would be enthusiastic about, but fortunately she was. With a lot of prayer, and thought, and thought, and prayer, I decided to apply. I was required to submit the standards (cover letter, resume) and then answer four additional questions related to the position.

Ms. Wells, my teacher, was very kind and helpful, and did the majority of the proofreading for me as I worked through drafts. Finally last week I completed all the questions and sent them off to FedEx to have them delivered to the church. After returning though I found out there was a hang-up - I had sent the rough drafts instead of the final edits.

I was in a panic. What was I to do? You can't stop FedEx. Their like the Army, or Marry Poppin's - nearly invincible. With that I called FedEx and they said they could put a stop on the package because it hadn't left the original location yet. I was saved! Good job God.

Eventually the correct mailing was sent out, and now it has been received by the youth pastor selection committee. Everything is in God's hand, and the decision will be up to Him; but prayer is still a good idea. So; if you feel led to; please pray for me. It's the greatest gift you could give.

I'm just blessed to even get to try out for the position. Normally churches look for people with degrees for their pastor roles, but they actually are willing to allow a substitution of experience and knowledge for the role. This may be a once in a lifetime chance, but no matter what happens God is to still be praised, for He is a good and just God.

I hope you get the position and of course I'll pray for you!

I want to know how the language is
    by missynopet at 03/28/06 9:06PM
  • wonderflex
There is some foul language in the official version; both subbed and dubbed. The fansub isn't very popular to find online, but it's language is toned down a little - but not much. I'd be more worried about the hyper violence (and the general fact that it sucks) than I would the language.

    like what?
    by missynopet at 03/29/06 8:31PM
  • missynopet
how bad is the language? mild, extreme?
    by missynopet at 03/29/06 8:32PM
  • wonderflex
Modern day PG-13. So, the D, and A, word can be used unlimited amounts of time; S to a minor degree, and the F word one time

what should i do . where can i get the fansub? i can't get it from ebay, cause we don't have an account and my dad doesn't like it because of spam(a deadly computer virus). but anywhere else for a fair price would be great. i'm talkin bout under $30.00. sorry i'm picky.=(

Fansubs are subs done by fans off origional work, prior to their United States distrobution signing. Because of this it means that 1) It can't be bought. 2) It can't be sold. 3) It must be given 100% free. This show has been given a US distrobution, so it was pulled off of fansub sites to insure that there was no legal issues. The only place you'll find it is either on BitTorrent (although I doubt it would be there), or off of DC++. I'd go the DC++ route. I'd give it to you, but as I as stated, I thinik it sucked, so I didn't keep it around.

how many times is the d and a word used? is really all that bad?
    by missynopet at 03/30/06 1:22PM
  • wonderflex
lol - I don't remember how many instances of cuss words it had. As far as it being that bad...YES! It really is horrible. If you look on google using the phrases, "x the movie" and "worst anime ever" together, you'll get a nice slew of results specifically related to this. It may not be my least favorite of all time, but I'll tell you what, it ranks pretty high up there.

but i'm not watching the movie . i'm hopefully buying the series

  • wonderflex
Oh. I've never seen the series. According to a parental guide review:
"...nudity is really not a factor."
""...a scene of someone granting a 'Wish' by gouging the others eye out."
"...Profanity is mostly mild, with mainly 'd*mn' used. 'B*stard' is occasionally used."
"...There are at least two same-sex 'couples' in X, though neither is traditional in any sense of the word, even if they had been heterosexual instead of homosexual."
"...once Kamui chooses to go to the 'good' side to protect those he loves the most, is a sadistic, blood loving guy, as evidenced by the fact that he first stabs Kotori through the heart, then pins Kamui to a wall with wires and then pins one of Kamui's hands to that same wall by piercing it with a sword. He also has an obsession with molesting Kamui, and loves to see him bleed. (He even licks a bit of blood running down Kamui's neck in the aforementioned scene. *shudder*"

Diet and Eating Habits

Deep inside the forest, on the eastern side of the island, there lived a big brown bear, who found himself to be rather hungry, yet had no food to eat. He had eaten all the dear. Eaten all the fish, and even all the birds. Not an ounce of food was left for the big brown bear to eat. With this he left to travel to the west in search of food.

Lying on the rocks, on the western side of the island, there lived a big brown walrus, who found himself to be rather hungry too, yet had no food to eat. He had eaten all the molluscs. Eaten all the clams, and even all the sea cucumbers. Not an ounce of food was left for the big brown walrus to eat. With this he left to travel to the east side in search of food.

In the middle of the island the big brown bear met the big brown walrus. Knowing that neither of them were big enough to eat the other and come out alive, they decided that it was best to just leave one another alone, and travel on their separate ways.

After many days of travel the big brown bear reached the west side of the island, where he found much food, and lived for many years. In similar light the big brown walrus reached the east side of the island, where he too found much food, and lived for many years.

Sadly, there were no foxes or water buffalo, although two eagles did make out in the back of the northern woods. They made two new baby eagles; one named Fred, and the other named Sherrie.

And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever. - Revelation 22:5
Isn't that crazy?
