So, people have been pressing on me to get out here and make an update. It's not that I haven't had the time, just more so that I play a lot of Battlefield 2. Irregardless of explanations I've decided that it's most important to do an update because of how important an issue it is:
MELISSA IS PREGNANT!?!!
Five times. I'm not sure how the science of all this works, but I imagine that we'll either end up with a boy, a girl, or a sea bass. Hopefully not the latter.
Okay, so that wasn't the big secret. Melissa isn't actually pregnant, but will be one day; and then we'll have a wonderful little family. Yay!
So, what actually is my good news? Drum roll... I might become a youth pastor!
I was sitting at work one day, the day before I was to sign onto the job I currently have, when out of the blue my English teacher from high school writes me an email telling me that I have to apply for the position at her church. How she wouldn't want anybody else teaching her children, and perfectly suited I am for the position.
It was a crazy proposition, and one I wasn't all too sure Melissa would be enthusiastic about, but fortunately she was. With a lot of prayer, and thought, and thought, and prayer, I decided to apply. I was required to submit the standards (cover letter, resume) and then answer four additional questions related to the position.
Ms. Wells, my teacher, was very kind and helpful, and did the majority of the proofreading for me as I worked through drafts. Finally last week I completed all the questions and sent them off to FedEx to have them delivered to the church. After returning though I found out there was a hang-up - I had sent the rough drafts instead of the final edits.
I was in a panic. What was I to do? You can't stop FedEx. Their like the Army, or Marry Poppin's - nearly invincible. With that I called FedEx and they said they could put a stop on the package because it hadn't left the original location yet. I was saved! Good job God.
Eventually the correct mailing was sent out, and now it has been received by the youth pastor selection committee. Everything is in God's hand, and the decision will be up to Him; but prayer is still a good idea. So; if you feel led to; please pray for me. It's the greatest gift you could give.
I'm just blessed to even get to try out for the position. Normally churches look for people with degrees for their pastor roles, but they actually are willing to allow a substitution of experience and knowledge for the role. This may be a once in a lifetime chance, but no matter what happens God is to still be praised, for He is a good and just God.

Deep inside the forest, on the eastern side of the island, there lived a big brown bear, who found himself to be rather hungry, yet had no food to eat. He had eaten all the dear. Eaten all the fish, and even all the birds. Not an ounce of food was left for the big brown bear to eat. With this he left to travel to the west in search of food.
Lying on the rocks, on the western side of the island, there lived a big brown walrus, who found himself to be rather hungry too, yet had no food to eat. He had eaten all the molluscs. Eaten all the clams, and even all the sea cucumbers. Not an ounce of food was left for the big brown walrus to eat. With this he left to travel to the east side in search of food.
In the middle of the island the big brown bear met the big brown walrus. Knowing that neither of them were big enough to eat the other and come out alive, they decided that it was best to just leave one another alone, and travel on their separate ways.
After many days of travel the big brown bear reached the west side of the island, where he found much food, and lived for many years. In similar light the big brown walrus reached the east side of the island, where he too found much food, and lived for many years.
Sadly, there were no foxes or water buffalo, although two eagles did make out in the back of the northern woods. They made two new baby eagles; one named Fred, and the other named Sherrie.

And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever. - Revelation 22:5
Isn't that crazy?
