Deals and a hard week
Note ... it occurred to me that not everyone is able to read blogger, so I decided to start copying my posts over here, rather than just linking. You're welcome. :)

Happy weekend, everyone! I decided it was time for a new post, so ... here I am. :)
First of all, the Zopher and I have had a rough couple of days. Yesterday was Zoe's 4 month checkup, which means another round of shots. Last time, I gave her Tylenol before her visit, but at the visit, her ped told me not to. So, this time, I waited till she was cranky and running a fever. Which means we've been playing catch up for the last 24+ hours. :( She was a VERY brave girl at the doctor's office, but ran a low grade fever and was cranky and whiny for about 24 hrs after. She seems to be over the fever now - still cranky, though. So, here's some before and after pictures ... She's less than a week old in this first one ...
And here she is at 4 months old! How was she ever so tiny?!?!? Seems impossible ...

Phew. Looking at those pictures makes me want to cry ... and then makes me want to make another one! Not yet, though.
So, I haven't done deals in a while, so I thought I'd catch you up on the AWESOME deals I've been getting recently!
This is this week's CVS run. 2 toothpaste, 2 spaghetti sauce, 3 peanut butter, 2 shampoo, 1 box of tea bags, 2 travel size face wash, a tin of altoids, 3 travel first aid kits, and 2 bottles of soda. Original value for all of that was $49.92. Now, I had a bunch of coupons, and a bunch of extra care bucks from last week. How much do you think I paid for all that? $25? $10? Nope ... I paid ...
Squat. Yup, I paid nothing for all that. I found a CVS gift card that they'd given me when I returned a couple of things that I paid for with extra bucks. So, if I hadn't had that card, I would've paid $3.94 (a 92% savings). As it was, nothing hit my credit card, for all this!!
This was Walgreens this week. I don't do Walgreens much, just because they have SO MANY rules, etc. about how you have to run coupons, how many coupons you can use, etc. Plus, I don't like their Register Rewards - they expire too quickly! But they had an AWESOME deal that didn't involve RR this week, so I ran in and got these 3 boxes of wipes for $2.12 - $0.71 each!! These retail for about $3.50 each at Walmart, so that's an 80% savings!
This was last week at CVS. While I paid more out of pocket than I usually do at CVS, I still got some really good deals!! I got 2 boxes of disposable dipes (and, since we do cloth during the day, a box will last us a WHILE!), a box of Kotex pads, a 2 pack of bar soap, and a photo book. Regular price on all of that was $69.95. I paid $21.97 out of pocket - a 69% savings!
I'll have to keep an eye out next week - I still have $15 in extra bucks to use up!!
In other news, we're planning to have a bunch of company this weekend - a family of 5 for lunch Sunday, and my monthly junior high/ high school girls bible study Sunday for supper - so I'm doing a bunch of cooking this weekend! Lunch Sunday will be pot roast w/ carrots and potatoes, corn, tomato cucumber salad, jello with strawberries and bananas, green beans, and PW's chocolate sheet cake. Then, Sunday night will be a DIY salad bar with crackers and rolls on the side, and leftover chocolate cake for dessert. If I remember, I'll take pictures ... we'll see. :)
Also, the hubband and I are going for another Woods Walk tomorrow morning - hitting 2 trails in a day. We'll be more than halfway at that point, I think - and we've got till the end of November to get all of them done! Maybe if we're going tomorrow, that'll be enough to get me out of my walk tonight ... or, maybe not.
Question for the day: what's your favorite kind of exercise?

Awesome deals! Just wondering... what site(s) do you use for your lists? I use grocerygame and couponmom. I'm always looking for new/better sites though. And I shouldn't use GG's site, but... I love that they color coordinate and tell you when to stock rather than just what % you're saving.
I seriously need lessons on this shopping stuff. Really. We have a CVS super close to our house and if I knew how their stupid-bucks worked, I'd use them for sure.
An aside: I've been using disposables at night cause NOTHING I've tried is keeping her dry. I'm hesitant to buy hemp inserts due to the cost. What if they don't work?
