Time to Move!
It’s time for me to move. Rather, it’s HIGH time for me to move. Someone once recommended that we move every three or so years, just to keep the stuff to a minimum. I have fifteen years of stuff to sort.
In college, I worked with a woman who managed to keep her possessions down to what would fit in the back of her station wagon. Seriously. It was her mission to move a lot, and she felt that possessions would tie her down. She had a twin size bed, and a couple of little tables, and she kept all her clothes in bins. I am so envious.
I’ve been trying to pack up stuff that I know we won’t need right away, so I started with the attic. There was this huge bin of knitting projects that I’d completely forgotten about: a mossy green afghan, just barely started; a olive green cable sweater for John, front panel almost done; an orange sweater for me, completed except for sewing on the last sleeve... but that sweater was started before three kids and 50 pounds... there’s no way I could ever fit into it now...
Then I found a couple bins of incomplete sewing projects. There were about eight quilts in various stages. There’s always been something way more pressing, but when I retire I’ll have loads of time, right? :-)
this_old_man, who is always after me to update this blog, told me about a quilting circle that’s forming. Please count me in!
