HOME...

after being at daughter's for most of the week. Her hubby was on a business trip so I took advantage of some special time with her. I was there from Tuesday til Saturday which is a long time for me to be gone from home and leave 3 guys to fend for themselves. Oh well, it was probably good for them. Of course, she had to work every day but I took advantage of that time to visit with old friends and to shop. One lady whom I had lunch with was like a grandma to my kids when we lived in Louisville and she always makes my favorite dishes when I visit her and her husband. Bean soup (she makes the best!!), homemade pimento cheese and coconut pie!! Thanks Margie!! I also got to visit with my friend Sharon who introduced me to Stampin' Up years ago (my husband is so glad she did that, HA!). Krista and I watched the Olympics and rented movies, we ate at Cheddar's on Friday night which is one of my favorite restuarants and we also ate at Smokey Bones which is now another favorite Louisville restuarant, their bar-b-que is really good and the buy one get one free coupon was good too, we both ate for $10. It was great to spend time with my girl.

Glad you enjoyed your time up here. Had I known you were up you could have come to an archery practice one day. Harry and Margie are such a sweet couple. You definitely get a gold star for the $10 at Smokey Bones - we can't do that!

was that Mrs. Mindel? They were like g-parents to me when we used to go to Manslick.

Are they both still living? Mr. Mindel used to give me hugs from the time I was 2 or 3 (and chewing gum) until I married. They are one of the fondest memories of my childhood.

GREAT WEEKEND!!

We started off the weekend with a wonderful singing at El Bethel Friday night. It's so uplifting when Christians get together to raise their voices in praise to God. So good to see lots of old friends and lots of family that we seldom get to see. Got to meet my newest 3rd cousin, Conner Fleming. He will be 3 weeks old tomorrow and he is too pretty to be a boy, don't tell him I said that. Thanks to all of you who came.

Saturday night we ate at Stoney River Steak House in Cool Springs and it was wonderful! The steak was sooooo tender and they have carmalized onion mashed potatoes that are out of this world. Then on to the Schermerhorn Center to see Jim Brickman in concert with the Nashville Symphony. It was so good. So yes, we had a very nice Valentines.

Today we ate lunch with friends and it's up early tomorrow to head for Vanderbilt children's hospital where our great nephew is having hernia surgery. Please keep him in your prayers, he was born Dec. 1 and was almost 7 weeks early but he is doing well. He's over 10 lbs. and growing strong I hate that he has to have this minor surgery. They haven't even been able to bring him to services yet because he was so early they were told to keep him in for 3 months because his lungs were very underdeveloped. Their target date for getting him out is March 1 so hopefully this surgery won't slow him down too much.

Hope surgery goes well tomorrow! And thanks - we were glad we were able to come. You had a good crowd!!

Hope your great nephew is doing okay. 10 pounds sounds like a good weight for being 7 weeks early.

IT WAS A GOOD WEEKEND

Our family was all together this weekend so that made it good. We took a quick trip to Louisville to take Krista and Dan some of our old furniture since we got new stuff. It's almost Krista's b'day so we took her gifts to her, one of which was a nice little hall table that her dad made for her. I didn't get a pic of it so maybe she will post a pic of it. He's getting into making more furniture which is so nice to have and be able to pass down through the family.

We ate at Rocky's on the River Friday night. It's an Italian resturant on the river between Louisville and Indiana. The neat thing about it is to eat there after dark and have such a great view of the night lights of Louisville although we chose not to eat outside this time, wonder why?? We drove around some neighborhoods afterwards and looked at Christmas lights and on Sat. morning Krista and I got up and hit some of the early bird sales.

Being with family and having an uplifting worship service on Sunday always makes for a good weekend:)
  • dsh
I agree on the "heart attack!" :)

Glad you had a great time with family over the weekend. We're looking forward to all our family this weekend.
