Sunday and Monday
Sunday--
Today we went to Antcha. We got up early and packed and ate breakfast for the last time at the Heme Hotel in Hossana. We traveled around 45 min. to antcha! They have an amazing congregation. So many sweet people! Lauren and I wore our matching skirts that Nannie made us!! That was fun! Lauren and I taught the children at the school that we had visited a couple days before. It went really well. It started raining during class and stopped to let us walk to the church bldg. and then it pretty muched rained the whole service. We all sat at the front facing the whole audience. it was so weird. that's the way it was all week but at Sunday morning worship it was strange. and freezing! Afterwards we took pics with the kids and people we knew. It took us awhile to say goodbye. we were invited to someones home but we had to drive to Nazaret which was 6 or 7 hours away. So unfortunately we couldn't. we ate lunch in the car and napped and chatted. I read the book of Esther and Ruth. Very couragous woman in the bible! Pat requested that i read them so I did. And enjoyed them!! :) A little further down the road we stopped for a refreshments. We took a potty break and ordered Mirinda's (a common soda in Ethiopia) We were climbing back into the car and all the girls had skirts on so its a little difficult to climb, so i was holding onto the car where the door's meet and my dad slammed the door on 3 of my fingers. Tears immediately came to my eyes. it hurt pretty bad. Fedlu, the driver, ran in and got some ice. They throbbed most of the day but they're find now. A little swollen and red but i will survive. :) We finally arrived in Nazaret about 8ish. It was pretty dark. We dragged our oversized bags to our rooms and went to get dinner. i ordered cooked vegatables. Rice, green beans, carrots, and cabbage. i left the cabbage on the plate but the rest was alright. Laruen and I decided to watch Oprah and a show called Australian Princess before we went to bed. Finally we fell asleep around 11.
Monday
We got up pretty late. 8:30 and packed our bags once again and traveled to Wonji to teach for the last time in the countryside. Pat and us were in the same class so we taught the first class and she taught the second. It was small but a lovely group. We got good pictures of course! Then we traveled the rest of the way to Addis! About 3 hours. We ate lunch and i played on my dad's computer. It made the time go by fast. As we were heading into Addis we were stopped about 2 or 3 times to check our bags and the tires of all things. The driver had to get out his driver's license and they looked inside the car. Ethiopians have funny ways of doing things. it caused such a traffic jam. Not very organized. but anyways then it started pouring that was fun. my door had a leak in it so i was getting rained on. that was fun.
We finally made it to the Hilton and we pretty much ran to our rooms. the hilton is so nice compared to the countryside but it makes you think about what they don't have once again. After our luggage was brought to us and we arranged our room and put our dirty clothes in laundry bags me and lauren went to the weight room to work out. she was my personal trainer. we ran and lifted weights. it felt pretty nice but i'm sure i'll be sore tomorrow. We ran to our rooms to take quick showers becuase we had to make our dinner appointment. We had 20 min. to get ready. which wasn't had. The showers felt amazing. so clean i felt much better afterwards. My dad said he took a shower to wash the countryside off him. i definitely felt like that after my shower. After i got out of the shower someone knocked on the door. i figured it was my dad but then when i opened it it was a florist brought us girls a huge bouqet of flowers. yellow purple and pink. they were beautiful!! He also typed each one of us a note. it was so sweet i cried!!! he's so generous! He also bought me and lauren M&Ms they were so good! Then we headed to dinner. it was pretty tasty as well. After dinner Dad and I played 6 games of ping pong. of course i only won 1 game. but it was fun none the less!! :) So now i'm on here writing this blog. at dinner we chatted about the events of the week. its kind of a blur but an experience and adventure! well i'm heading to bed! Love to all
