Hello my friends,

It's been almost 4 months since my last post. So, I think it's about time for an update!

I am still working at MH- Sugar Land and enjoying my job...except of course that it requires people to be sick or unwell for me to have my job.

Dustin and I are doing well in our marriage. We are learning how to handle "marriage" better everyday. When you have two individuals used to an independent lifestyle and then try to merge those lifestyles into one house and yet accomodate each other's "man time" or "girl time" still, it can be challenging as we all know. We are making it! Don't let my silence here make you think otherwise, lol.

Our 1st Month wedding anniversary, we joined our sister in welcoming our new niece to the family! Delivery went well and we enjoy getting to watch her grow and see how she merges into the new family.

Our 2nd Month wedding anniversary, we both had to work. We also wanted to increase the celebration and invite the cops to the house...I came home and could not get into the house. Our door had been locked from the inside. After my 3rd attempt at unlocking doorknob- checking to see if it would open-locking doorknob-repeat...I told myself "STOP, this isn't right. Call Dustin" I called him and asked if he left the house locked from the inside and went out the back for any reason, to which he replied no. I told him I could also see the kitchen light on. I hear an urgent "Get back in the car, I'm calling the police. I'm leaving work now." Dustin and I both work evening shift. I work 1-1 and he works 2-2a. Dustin's commute is about 40 min and that night was the FASTEST time he's ever made it home. Either that OR I was just in shock over everything else I wasn't paying much attention to have fast time was flying. The police arrived not long after we got off the phone and I was sitting in the car like a good girl, though I wanted to take a look at the back door. Our backyard had no motion sensor light at the time. It now does. AND we have extra bolts on the door and darker curtains for the windows...etc. The police went in through the back door while I waited in the car and came through the front door to ask me to come in and let him know what all might be missing. The back door had been broken in. Happy Anniversary! We had missing items, some more heart-breaking than others...our camera with memory card containing 2000+ pics with all our honeymoon pics still on them was taken. I am grateful for the pics I had already printed out but upset I hadn't made a back-up of the memory card before it was taken. So, half our honeymoon pics from the camera will never be seen again.. but we will just have to review our minds for our memories! The culprits did not trash the place but they did rummage through drawers seeking whatever quick cash or items they could find. They found the 2 guns and the ammo (I didn't even know where the ammo was), took tools, my jewely, a bottle of perfume and D's cologne...some petty items. But, we made it through and 2 months later still have no idea who broke into our home or where our belongings are now.

Our 3rd Month wedding anniversary we spent with family playing Train Dominos and Wii. Tons of fun!

So, there is my update on the biggest 'happening' since marriage for us. Hope you enjoyed...

Thanks for the mother's day wish! It has been an awesome experience having Logan. Can't wait to see you again one day. We are worshipping at Bellaire and live next to the med center. Where are you living? I'm sorry to hear about your house and camera and things. It seems like that kind of stuff is become more common than it used to. But like Melissa said, at least you have your memories, health and safety. : /

Gene felt so much better today; he got the tube out and in the morning they will try him on liquids. We heard that many were being admitted through the ER today and the hospital was filling up!

2 Wks from today I will be exploring the World of Disney.

2 weeks---that's not much more time for my single life...

I will be a newlywed...

I will need more patience...

I will need to start cooking...

We will need to start exercising more...

We will need to get our new home in order...

So many more things to look forward too!

Any marriage advice, pack for Disney advice, cooking and cleaning advice from you, please feel free to send my way!

:D

Love actively. It's not just an emotion. Do it freely, firstly, and forgivingly; don't forget your tooth brush; cook the basics, nothing fancy; do 15 minutes of maintenance cleaning every night before going to bed. And, keep a piece of paper and a pen always with you to write down things D asks you to do and that you intend to do. It will go a long, long way in soothing his and your patience. Love you!

Congrats!!! :) Hope you guys have sooo much fun at Disney. :) As far as marriage advice, I would say open communication!! Be patient with each other. Always, always make sure you honor your husband and make him feel really good about himself! (Even if you get angry!) Women need love, men need respect.

I'm not a married person, but I would assume that as long as you keep God as the head of your marriage AND an open line of communication, y'all will be able to grow together and help each other for the rest of your lives! Disney - make SURE you stay for fireworks every night, and there may be some hurricanes coming through (there were in the fall that I lived there). Go to the Animal Kingdom early in the day when the animals are still awake. Get yourself a Crock Pot and a good Crock Pot recipe book -- cooking done (it's like the Jetsons!).

well I can give advice on the cooking and cleaning. clean as you go! it works wonders at work and at home ex. wake up then make the bed=DONE. don't save all the cleaning for one day =major overload!!
Cooking- have the basic staples in the pantry. cook what you like, keep it simple, but try new things. try to have a colorful display of food; variety is good for you.
I can send you my TSU notes if you want.

but most of all have fun while you work!

Wedding in Dallas this weekend, so may try to stay with friends in Dallas that night OR Stephenville OR go to Amarillo and see my brother the next day...though that would be a ton of driving that night...

Plans in the works, waiting to see what pans out.

10 days off!

I am off of work until the 10th. Tried to make plans to visit a friend in Alaska, but she wouldn't have been able to hang out all the much and didn't want to roam the state by myself! So, I am here at home, attempting to get some things done, relax for sure, and thinking about making a trip to Stephenville this weekend...Shall I?

Well, may end up just sticking around home and getting prepared for Gramps and Brazis coming in on Monday. Plus, was hoping Dustin might end up heading out with me Saturday so he could help with the driving, but he's going on a much deserved fishing trip Saturday with some buddies. I'm sure Mom will appreciate me "motivating" her to get things ready for Gramps and Brazis anyway....plus, with my crazy nursing schedule I never seemed to get caught up with everyone on Sundays I'm off.

Thanks for the ideas.. Don't worry B.I.L. next summer definitely planning on a trip to ALASKA!! I've been talking about it long enough. Plus staying home now will let me visit with Gramps and B more with 4 days off with them in a row.
