Okay, so I only know that he likes green beans so far, but he way prefers them over cereal! I am super excited that he likes them because I always hear of parents who can't get their children to eat veggies!
I guess I shouldn't be surprised.... he's just like his mommy in that respect! When I was like 4, my mom would always let my sister and I pick out something from the grocery store- sort of a bribe to get us to be good. So usually I picked out whatever big sis got. One day, Amanda picked out a Kid cuisine t.v. dinner (no surprise there- it was her usual), and so mom goes, "Brooke, what would you like?" "I'll take fresh produce, please", was my response! What crazy child wants fresh produce? That's me! LOL So mom carted me all the way back to the front of the store where I picked out some fresh produce!
In the next day or two I am going to try peas or squash. I'm not sure which. Maybe sweet potatoes? We'll see. I'm so proud of him! He's such a big boy. He even tries to feed himself. He grabs the spoon and can totally get it in his mouth. It is adorable!

So yesterday, Nicolas was playing in the middle of our livig room. Before we knew it, he had scooted himself clear across the floor and got ahold of some papers from Richard's men's bible class! Whoops! He is growing so fast.

Then.......today, he was in his swing. There are these 2 plastic toys, a fish & a whale, and on one of the settings, if you pull on those toys, it turns on the lights and music. Well, this morning he figured out how to do that! I can't believe it. He is getting so big!

Ok, it has been over a year since I last wrote! AHHH! My husband is finally out of the Marines, at least done with active duty. He is Inactive right now, for 2 more years. :( At least he is HOME!!!

SO we had a baby in April. He is almost 5 months by now! He is so great, and so much fun! He is learning to eat cereal right now which is messy!

I recently just got a new job where I can be at home with Nicolas and work form home!!! I am super excited about it. I have to work at the office for a month or so, but then they will set me up with a computer at home so I can stay with Nicolas! I am super excited. I am also teaching a class at A.U. for this semester. It is Business Finance, which is totally great! It is only 2 days a week for 1 hour and 15 mins. I am really excited about it.

Well, I got home Sunday morning about 1:30 am from Las Vegas and the Marine Corps Ball. I had an awesome time! My husband is the best! The ball was beautiful. I plan on adding pictures eventually, if I can remember how. lol. The only down part is all the drama that takes place when Marines celebrate their birthday!
A few of the guys in his unit got totally drunk on Wednesday night, as soon as they arrived in Vegas. One even got in a fight and almost arrested. Then they went to their rooms, slept for a few hours, left at like maybe 12noon and began drinking again! They were so trashed at 4:30 (the ball started at 6 pm on Thursday) that one of the guys called Richard's friend, Ryan Tongue, and said he was at New York, New York (a hotel) and was so drunk he couldn't stand up straight. So he asked him to come get him. So Tongue (they all go by their last names) goes to New York, New York to find him (his name is Toler). Well, Tongue can't find Toler anywhere, so he calls him back and now Toler doesn't even know where he is anymore and no one can find him. Well, for a Marine that is bad because 1) obviously, someone could take advantage of his state and rob and beat him up. 2) if a Marine is arrested for public intoxication, he not only gets in trouble with the local police, but he gets in huge trouble with the Corps. So finally after like an hour, somehow Toler ended up back in his room. I am so glad that my husband and I do not drink! That is just too much drama for me!
Anyway, we stayed and saw the ceremony and ate dinner, and then Richard and I left.
Well, my husband is just the sweetest guy. Our Anniversary is December 28th (2 years). There is a hotel in Vegas that I want to stay in some day. It is called the Venetian. It is styled to be like Venice, Italy. Since my grandmother is full blood Italian, I have an obsession with Italy. The hotel has canals and everything, just like Venice! Well, he surprised me by making reservations for Friday night. We had a suite all to ourselves in luxury! When we checked in the lady gave us a Free Upgrade to the next nicest suite (Piazza) because he is an Active Duty Marine. This suite was AMAZING! I was amazed that he did this for me, and that he kept it a surprise! He is so awesome! We even went on a Gondela ride, just like in Venice! I can't wait to post the pictures!
Overall, I had a fantastic time! Vegas is beautiful, but also somewhat scary. There are some shady characters there. I told my husband he was not allowed more than 1 foot away from me. lol It is nice to visit, but I am glad I don't live there!
Only 1 week and 3 days until I get to see him again!
O, and she is coming to see him on the 15th, and is crashing at my house. We will have fun, when he doesn't hog her! lol, j/k

Okay, so I am so excited. Over Veteran's Day, my hubby got to come home! Yea! He came home on the Wednesday previous (Nov. 10th) and his ticket was to leave at 5:30 pm on Saturday! However, we got a phone call early Sat morning from Northwest saying his flight was cancelled due to maintenance. So we got his flight switched to Sunday at 7 pm! Yea! How awesome is that!? We didn't tell our families right away b/c we wanted some alone time to just chill by ourselves. Eventually most everyone found out, but they were cool about it. It was so nice to have an unscheduled visit for 4 days!

Most recently, he just left today. He came home for Thanksgiving. He was supposed to come home Thursday at 5:45 PM, but got a standby flight early Thursday (12:30 am) and landed at 10:30 am Thursday instead! We were praying for an earlier flight and that flight he got was OVERBOOKED by 10 people (!!) and there were 5 other people waiting Standby for the same flight!!! But he still got on somehow....!!!! He left this morning at 8:00 am!!!

I leave on Wednesday to meet him in Las Vegas for the Marines Corps Birthday Ball. This is my 3rd year to go, the first time it has been held in Vegas. I am so excited to get to see all the sights. I am not a gambler, but I hear Vegas is beautiful and amazing even when not gambling! I can't wait. The ball is always interesting, and amazing. Usually about 500+ Marines in their Dress blues uniform. If you've never seen a Marine in Dress blues, you've missed out. "WOW!" is all I can say! I am super excited. I will be there Wednesday pm thru Saturday pm. 3 1/2 more days together! I am really getting spoiled! Then, he will be coming home for about 2weeks for xmas! I can't wait!

Well, I almost have all my xmas shopping done. A few more gifts to buy, and then I can relax for this year. Oh, yea, and an anniversary gift on the 28th of December for my wonderful husband! 2years married! Yeah!
