Yesterday was such a good day.Weird for a day you wake up late, pass a hundred trees down and poles split, and your husband forgets his car keys at home. But it was a good day. We were alive, the weather was beautiful and I got to have a surprise lunch with Brad.
Last night we went to the end of the year golf party that followed a partner game. Alana was partners with one of the coaches and they did really well. His wife the other coach, would keep saying Alana's awesome shots were just luck. He would argue she knew what she was doing and had skill. It was amusing.
Tomorrow Maggie is doing the talent show ×2. I will let you how that goes. Friday is award day for junior high and I will be there!!
Next week is even busier with Kindergarten graduation, elementary school awards, and field day for the kids.
I must read all your updates, I feel left out. Later.

This time of year was always so exciting when the kids were about to be home for the summer. Would love to hear of Maggie's talent performance!

We were in the path of something last night, power was out and we didn't wake up until 7 am! Trees are down and poles are split but nothing like Oklahoma.
Today I'm meeting my husband for lunch. Because he forgot his keys, that makes me happy!
  • cyber_space_cadet
Glad to know that you are all well. (Maybe you needed some extra rest, huh?)

What an unexpected pleasure...lunch with your hubby.

Sometimes there are good reasons for lost power and forgotten keys and such. :)

You're safe, wonderful. Maybe he should (could) forget his keys more often. Nice.

The Oklahoma tornados make me want to cry and hold my babies right now. Wow! Prayers for the families and for the ones still holding on. So sad.
  • shannonwk
    Hearts breaking. Sad, indeed!

Can you imagine? Just makes me hurt, sick to my stomach. A good reason why children should be with their mammas and not at school.

So sad! It breaks my heart!! We sat in our basement this morning for 30 minutes or so. I woke up to the sirens going off at 3:00 am. Turned on the tv and they said if you live in Hendricks Co. you are under a tornado warning. He gave the location of the storm and yes we were right in the path. So woke everyone up and headed to the basement. Knowing this was the same storm from Oklahoma, I didn't want to take a chance. Still not sure what woke me up because we usually sleep thru the storms and sirens. But glad I did. I'm usually the one wanting to watch the storm but being in the middle of the night I even headed to the basement.

My thoughts and prayers are with those that are hurting in Oklahoma!

Random

I have went on bike rides with kids tonight and last night and realize now that I will indeed be 36 in a few weeks. But it was fun and hope we have time for a short ride tomorrow before Bible study.
Today I went to Maggie's DARE graduation. It was fun. I didn't stay long after it though, too much to do.
So many things to be thankful for today. God has answered prayers for us and took care of things when it seemed impossible but nothing is impossible with God.
Alittle more peaceful day tomorrow, a few errands to run and class to teach that I am ready to teach. I love teaching this class. They are such a sweet group of children.
My strawberry rhubarb pie was so good. I was a nice girl and shared my wealth with my neighbors. I'm actually surprised at so many that haven't tried rhubarb. Brad wouldn't eat it for years bc it looked like celery. It's his favorite now.

I've never had rhubarb. I'd probably like it now, but there are usually other choices that attract me more. I mean, strawberry pie is SO good in itself, why sully it with rhubarb?

Bike rides: Slow and easy! I went for a ride with my "kids" night before last. Love it!

    This was a good update!

Haven't had rhubarb in years. I love it. I wouldn't sully the rhubarb with strawberries! I like them both so much!

An old bf of mine had rhubarb growing out back and wanted me to make something with it...so I made strawberry rhubarb mousse pie. Our deal was that I cooked and he cleaned up. Which was usually a good deal, but this recipe was one of those "in a large bowl... in a small pot... in a medium pot..." etc -- you would not believe how many pots and bowls and whatnot were used, like a mountain of dishes to wash for one little pie! It was good, though, and the rhubarb not only enhances the flavor, but also delivers amazing color, just beautiful.

Goes better with strawberries. I remember eating it raw from Grandpa Hardcastle's garden. Have not eaten it since, or not that much.
