Well Chelsea amazed herself! She tried her hand...or should I say legs, at long jump and hit 11 feet something. Well enough to earn her 2nd place. She also did shot put and nailed 26 feet something...I never catch the inches. :-( But it was well enough to earn her 1st place.
She says her "collection" is now complete...red, white, and blue ribbons. :-)
I'm glad she is enjoying it so much.
Chelsea did okay for her first meet :-)
3rd in shot put and 4th in the 200m. She didn't realize how short 200m was and was "pacing" herself until she realized where the finish line was! Hahaha...next time tiger!
Lectureship was awesome! I really enjoyed the lessons and it gave me much to contemplate. I, as I have mentioned before, feel woefully short of all of God's expectations. Overwhelmed by the sea of sin around us in this world, heavy-hearted for the ignorance of people in the world to God and all that they are missing out on, I continue to wrestle to keep my focus to not be overwhelmed. As soon as I am off of here I am off to review what I learned today and start implementing the changes I want in my life that I may better conform my life to that of Christ. I am grateful to God always for the opportunities for growth and change He puts in my life - but as the lessons given today reiterated - one has to ACT. So off to action I am. Seize the day!
but alas, I have nothing to say. :-(
Work, Workers, Working
A task that involves no shirking
We work all day so we can play
And make money to provide the bread and honey
I worked with boxes all day long
To show my parents they were wrong
That I could work and have the pride
To go the extra mile every time.
The family tree of working men
Points directly at the military
My dad & I will never know
The feeling of being owned
We respect the ones that bled and died
So I could have this freedom to write.
Coworkers, how you vary
You managers always scare me
As we work together we show our colors
And find out who is who and what we do.
If I could choose something to do
It would go to the animals
I love them all, big and small
I want to know so much about them.
How I want that Ph.D. and to succeed
So I can work with them all.
To work with an otter wouldn't be a bother
To help a whale would be a marvelous tale
To show the world that sharks aren't bad
And prove that even sloths get mad!
