My intentions for coming to Pleonast were primarily to test my memory skills. Surprisingly I remembered my password. My reward? A post....?
Life is great! God is doing great things-always! Let's make this posts useful - tell me how God has done something big for/through you! While encouragement comes through reading, prayer, and song, i'm finding that the simple task of "testimony" is the best way to see God's actions presently. I'm reminded of the countless passages in the NT that are simply about brothers and sisters expressing what God was doing in their lives, or how God was using them to reach others... so good! God's currently opening my eyes to see how I can better encourage elderly folk- a humbling and eye opening experience so far!
John 10:10!
Wow...i forgot about this place! (not really but oh well)
Hola - to anyone who actually comes to visit here!
God be with you.

Pray earnestly and sincerely for this nation and the leader that has been given some control of it; he has foolish ideas. How could a man that professes to believe in God be so disobedient (i understand we all have failures that were trying to conquer, but keep these following things in mind please). Romans 1 has been violated in many ways, but especially today around 12 pm.
"The Iowa Supreme Court unanimously rejected a state law Friday that banned same-sex marriage, and opponents wasted little time in pushing for a state constitutional amendment that could send the issue to voters."
"Good morning, my name is Kate Varnum, and I'd like to introduce you to my fiance, Trish Varnum. I never thought I'd be able to say that.".... As if that makes a difference in their "relationship."

Defend the Conscience Clause!
On April 9th Mr. Barak Obama is attempting to move one more step farther from God. Pray that his intentions are over looked, and that all Christians will stand for truth through these trying times. He's trying to pass a law that states that every Doctor has to perform an abortion no matter what their belief is.
Proverbs 6:16 "there are six things the Lord Hates, yes seven are an abomination to him: Haughty eyes, a lying toungue, And HANDS THAT SHED INNOCENT BLOOD."
Firstly pray that the law will not be passed and secondly that the current Doctors WILL NOT participate and be willing to give up their jobs than to support such a ridiculous law (Exodus 1:15-22, the Hebrew Midwives we able to defy the kings command, American doctors can do the same thing, and if not they are foolish and selfish).
ALthough these may be minor issues to some, these events could foreshadow worse things that could become lawful.
Be willing to stand through all of it...
Philippians 1:29-30 "For to you it has been granted for Christ's sake, not only to believe in Him but to also suffer for His sake, experiencing the same conflict which you saw in me, and now hear to be in me."
Anyone that supported or supports this man should probably be ashamed...
(If you would like to attempt to make some form of a stand go to ACLJ.org.)

Fear God and keep HIS commandments(Ecclesiates 12:13-14)
Anthony Venuso
I've been enlightened by Guy N. Woods, thanks to him i have a whole knew understanding of what Psalm 119:160a and how it applies to scriptures... "The sum of your word is truth." Simply put he said... Just as Romans 5:12 + Psalm 51:5 = Original Sin, so does 1 Timothy 5:16 + James 1:27 = Orphanages and Institutionalism... (sigh...)

Although his concept does hold truth (the plan of salvation), the fact that he took passages out of context to come to that conclusion of a sponsoring church was wrong.
Before doing addition with scripture always consider the context of the passage.
Sorry, random thought of the day. :)
It's been a long time since i posted... Obvious Observation.

As Hannah has posted, yesterday was our one year Anniversary of being engaged. It's been a joy. And although many people may think we're naive, immature or maybe crazy for being engaged for two years until marriage, i believe it's been a blessing, and now it's only one year until we do get married. :)
Even though we've been separated from each other all throughout our relationship i feel extremely close to her, our communication skills, trust and patience have been tested and will be continually. We've learned to understand each other just by the sounds of a voice.
Thanks to God and my parents especially i have been able to have more understanding of what a servant is and what faith in God really means. Being able to understand that God will provide in some way (Psalm 34, Matthew 6, Luke 12) through situations in life is comforting.
"The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him" (ps 34:7).

Anthony Venuso.
I'm not sure that this is necessarily a "big" thing, but it's a thing that has impacted me: God has allowed me to more fully realize how far my influence can reach. Just this past week at camp I had several "ah-ha" moments when completely out of the blue two people came up to me and told me what a positive influence I had been on them. I was shocked because they didn't really have to say anything at all, but still chose to. It was a sobering realization to come to: people actually listen when I talk and I should absolutely take that responsibility more seriously.
Thanks for asking this question! It's a good one!
I am amazed in the 7 years we've been here the amount of growth I've seen in the congregation. There have been quite a few new converts and a few restored, but the personal growth in the existing believers makes me never want to leave. This is the closest to the ideal that I have ever seen a church operate. Please know that I am most certainly tooting GOD's horn and not my own.
