A friend and I and I were walking and talking after class and I was pretty much staring at the ground when someone took a picture of me from a very close range with a huge camera. Now this is a fairly normal experience, since I am a celebrity, but this time I happened to be walking through a large group of people so I looked to my right to see who I had just walked by. And.....it was in fact John Kerry and his entourage. Cool. I had heard he was on campus, but I didn't expect to nearly run into him on the sidewalk. I also happened to have my camera with me so I snapped a couple of pics as he stopped to talk to someone.

Judging by the width of the sidewalk I must have been about an arms' length from him. I put pictures up on facebook. If you are a college student and you don't have facebook, then get it.

Then, at FarmHouse chapter meeting tonight the Republican candidate for Iowa Secretary of Agriculture, Bill Northey, and also Iowa Congressman Tom Latham came to talk to us about agriculture issues in the upcoming elections. We were unaware that Tom Latham was coming with Bill, so it was a surprise when he walked into the room. Apparently they think FarmHouse is a big enough deal to visit just 50 college guys and talk with us for a while.

I finally got a cell phone! That's fun...
I don't really enjoy posting frequently but I will try. I am sooooo tired from rack duty. Ever day this week I had to get up at 6:15 to put the flag up and then wake people up until 7am when you are allowed to have alarms. My classes usually start at 10 or 11am so my sleep schedule has gotten really messed up. The game last night was a blast though.
