I fought the pine cones and the pine cones won...

So for the past 2 days I've been working on cleaning up the yard and I've picked up 10-15 shopping bags and a big lawn bag full of pine cones and sticks. So, today as I was throwing the last few bags into the dumpster, one didn't quite make it and bounced back and hit me in the nose! I knew it hurt, but didn't think anything of it, so I went in to start cleaning up and when I looked in the mirror, I had a little scratch on my nose that was bleeding! =( So, yea, the pine cones won.

The surgery went very well! She got to go home today and we will be visiting her tomorrow! God has blessed us with such amazing medical technology and I am truly thankful! Thank you all for your prayers and concern! I will update again after visiting her with some more details!

My mother in law, Karen, is going into surgery today for Sciatica. She is having surgery on her neck, somehow it is all related. Please pray that her doctors are precise and speedy and that recovery goes well! She will be at the hospital for a few days following, so hopefully we will get to visit.

Busy, busy!

So much has been going on!! We're in the middle of moving, Buddy has been super busy with work, it was just valentines day, we've been to many parties and doing a lot of packing!!!!! I'm hoping that by the end of the month things will slow down, so I can actually be helpful to some people that could probably use a break!

I am really excited to move though! The new place is SO much nicer than here. It's in a cul de sac, so now we won't have to worry about the kids running on to a main road, and it will cut way down on the traffic noise! The bedrooms have carpet! Don't get me wrong, I love hardwoods, but I also love waking up and stepping onto something soft and squishy and not freezing! =) The whole kitchen/hallway/bathroom/laundry room are tiled, but with nice tile and the living room is hardwood! There are exposed wood beams on the high ceilings! And there is a main level (although there is only one level) laundry room! The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher! And the counter is granite tile!!! I am just so excited to be in a place that seems like the landlord actually cares about it. The place we are currently in is practically falling apart! EVERYTHING need a good updating or repairing. And I'm glad that we won't be living around mold anymore!! And all this is due to Donna recommending us!!!! Thanks SO much!! This really is such a blessing! Not to mention the fact that I'll be 2 minutes from you!!!! =)

The kids are doing great and we're finally over all the sickies! Lukas has been cracking us up with the things he's been coming out with, like the other day I asked him to do something and he held up his finger and said "one minute, mama!". Don't worry, I didn't let that slide, but it just made me laugh because of course he would learn to say that, unfortunately we say it to him far too often. That one really made me think! =p
Lili has been talking SO much, mostly in her own language, but she repeats pretty much anything you ask her to! She now tells us when she's "all done" eating, and today she told me "my poo poo", yea.....She also is very much into dancing and jumping. Sometimes she'll just starting twirling for no reason....I need the video camera on constantly!

I'm also looking forward to and praying for all the new ba bi es that will be arriving soon! So much excitement in the next few weeks/months!

I have thought about the one minute thing too. The older the kids get and the more of them I have I guess I am really starting to realize that the best way they learn is through example. Of course they need to learn to be patient and that they can't always have what they need right away BUT when I ask Meredith to do something I always expect her to drop what she is doing and do my request immediately...when do I ever do that for her or Theodore or Chris? Maybe 1% of the time or maybe even never. If my constant response is in a minute why would I not expect hers to be also? It is much harder to expect a child to do something when they see a different example constantly. I am really trying to work on myself. I am a Christian and I want my kids to be, we should all be acting the same way and have God's standards rule our lives, of course I have authority over them which they do not over me but that is all part of God's plan.

Anyway...not to write a book, lol but that has been on my mind lately. Always so much to work on and get through the everyday things too right?

I'm 25! 0_o

It was so nice to wake up this morning to birthday love! And getting 3 Nora Jones cds, a pandora charm, some Dove chocolates and a date night tonight isn't so bad either!!!!

I am so thankful for having my wonderful husband, who is caring, thoughtful and such a rock in my life! I would not be where I am today without him.
I am also thankful for my wonderful, healthy children. In the bible it talks about how children are a blessing and wow, how true that is!
Thanks so much Mom and Dad for watching the kids so we can go out! I love you both so much and am so blessed to have such wonderful godly parents!
I also want to say thank you to all of my friends for being so great! I love you all so much!

P.S. I had a weird start to the day though! At around 2:30 this morning we heard this weird sound and instantly we thought it was one the kids whimpering in their sleep, but after checking on both of them we realized that is wasn't them, so we went around the house trying to figure it out. (and after watching 2 episodes of Lost, this is not such a great idea, lol) We finally figured out that it was coming from outside. It took a while but we finally spotted a small beagle running around and barking outside our house ....after a while we decided to call the police to inform them, but they told us there was nothing they could do about it unless it was caught. While I was on the phone with them we saw our neighbor come out and try to see what was going on, well the dog was very scared of him and ran away. For the next hour we heard barking. But eventually it went away. I hope the poor dog is ok, it was really cold last night! So, yea, my day started pretty weird, but how else would it start? =)
