UGA vs. Ga Tech

My sons' schools are squaring off for a game today. Tim is actually there since he was able to get a student priced ticket. It looks like either could win today. Usually it is pretty one sided. The rest of us are sitting nice and warm at home getting ready to eat pizza. I never thought we would be a football family, but here we are!

We are a football family, but I don't watch at all, except for the last 3 minutes or so. I sit in the same room with them and enjoy them watching the game.

My guys

So since hardly anyone I know is on here anymore, I decided to add a photo of my young men. Hard to believe they are in their 20's now. When I began pleonast, they were in late elementary school. Time keeps marching on...

Thanks for posting this! I love seeing them together. I need to do the same with my boys, if I can get a pic and figure out how to do it. They are now 21 and 18.

The guys are home!

At least for the weekend! Robert still has classes on Monday and Tuesday. Often he comes home Saturday to be closer to the church building for worship tomorrow.

Tim came home early because he had the flu but he is already feeling well enough to go with us to worship on Sunday. So thankful!

In Heavenly Love Abiding

We sang this tonight. Good timing!

In heavenly love abiding,
No change my heart shall fear,
And safe is such confiding,
For nothing changes here.

The storm may roar without me,
My heart may low be laid,
But God is round about me,
And can I be dismayed?

What good words of assurance. I like the last verse, too: "My hope I cannot measure, my path to life is free. My Savior has my treasure, and He will walk with me."

Veteran's Day

Today is a day we are supposed to honor our Veterans. I can't help but remember that there are men in the family of God who are soldiers, spreading God's word throughout the world. They deserve our prayers and concern.

A song we began singing a few years back that often makes me think.

Our elders long in battle years
Alas begin to fade
But from the ranks young men appear
and lead their first crusade.

Praying for the old soldiers and praying for the new ones!
