I've spent the last year trying to find a permanent position at work. I made the final 4 several times but never was selected. This week I had 4 interviews and was selected for all 4 positions. It's nice to be wanted. I was offered positions in Orange, Brenham, Katy & Richmond. I accepted the job in Richmond and will be going there next month.

I didn't get one.

I had two interviews last week for positions that I only met the minimum requirements. I didn’t have the experience necessary for the positions. I didn't want either one of them (Postmaster of Beaumont & Postmaster of Katy) but I applied because no other positions have been posted. I was surprised to get the interviews. For now I’ll stay where I am but I’m still looking. There are a lot of supervisor slots open that they haven't posted yet. I am qualified for them and have the experience. The Postmaster of Cleveland told me he would call me when his slot is going up. The Postmaster of Pt Arthur wants me but doesn't have a vacant slot. There are two slots in Beaumont that will be posted soon now that they have a Postmaster. Two slots will be posted in Katy also. There are at least 20 open positions in Houston.
