uhhh

I can't believe it has been a year since my profound last post! I feel the urge to post again, but lack the time and/or energy to do so at the present time. I will before another year passes, I promise! I hope you all are doing well. 3

    LOL! I know what you mean about posting. I've been busy updating on our baby website and haven't done much updating here either. Glad to know you're still doing ok. :)

    Good to know you are still alive. Though Pleo seems to be fading thanks to Facebook.

    Facebook is so much easier since you only have a one-line status to think of, instead of a whole post! lol

In case anyone was wondering...

...I'm alive.

Got a question

Does anyone know of a sound congregation near Addison, Texas? I have to attend a conference for work there in April, and need to find a place to worship on Sunday night. Thanks for your help. An update is in the near future...maybe. :P
  • preacherdavetx
    Coppel I think might be the closest. Go to wwww.bible.ca and plug in the addres in the "church finder" and it should work for you. God bless.

Time is not on my side

As the semester goes on, I find the amount of things on my to-do list more overwhelming everyday. This is definitely the most challenging semester of my academic career, and I find myself struggling to keep my head above the water. I try to sleep, but all those things I need to get done run through my head and I feel as if by lying there thinking about them I am wasting time as I should be doing something. Tonight a song crept in between those thoughts and reminded me of the most important thing on my to-do list that is often the easiest to forget or let slide. I'll post the lyrics below. I hope everyone's week is off to a great start and I apologize for such a blah post. As depressing as it may sound, I am rather optimistic about things I just needed an outlet for those that are weighing on my mind right now. Next time will be better, I promise. :) Now, here are those lyrics...

Take time to be holy, speak oft with thy Lord;
Abide in Him always, and feed on His Word.
Make friends of God’s children, help those who are weak,
Forgetting in nothing His blessing to seek.
Take time to be holy, the world rushes on;
Spend much time in secret, with Jesus alone.
By looking to Jesus, like Him thou shalt be;
Thy friends in thy conduct His likeness shall see.
Take time to be holy, let Him be thy Guide;
And run not before Him, whatever betide.
In joy or in sorrow, still follow the Lord,
And, looking to Jesus, still trust in His Word.
Take time to be holy, be calm in thy soul,
Each thought and each motive beneath His control.
Thus led by His Spirit to fountains of love,
Thou soon shalt be fitted for service above.

Love and God bless!

    I agree...it's easy to forget what should be our #1 always...I'm sure you'll figure out a way to get it all done (or at least what needs to be done). :)

    Time is on your side. Unfortunately I can say I have experienced the same thing many times before. Something that helps, is to keep a notepad by your bed. Everything that is racing through your head, write it down. You may have to turn the light back on and hit that pad 4 or 5 times, but if you stick with it you will 1)Be asleep before you know it and 2)Have all those handy thoughts waiting for you the next day when you need them. I know it all sounds cheesy, but I'm all for cheesy if it works.

    Thanks for reminding us of that song. Timely words.

    I'm glad! It's a fantastic meeting! It's been years since I have heard Brother Smitherman preach, and he's excellent - very to-the-point, but not "in-your-face." :)

    BUT then it's like you have to pay double if you pay the district taxes you are in and then extra for the district you aren't in. Well actually it's my parents that pay for the Danbury taxes.. so it doesn't yet effect me! :)

Thankful

In hard times like these, it is good to step back and examine all the blessings in our lives. Thanks for tagging me and making me do just that. I absolutely LOVE the weather that we've been having! I think I like fall more and more every year. I just wish we could see a bit more foilage around here! But the break in temps and humidity along with the clear, sunny skies have been awesome! I've been swamped with school and work these past few weeks. I am constantly going over everything I need to get done in my head, and it never feels like I accomplish any of it. BUT, I am ordering my cap and gown today so YAY! My dad is in West Virginia for at least a month working, and fortunately he found a sound congregation there. From what I hear they have already been vrey gracious to him, and I'm thankful for that. The county fair starts here on Friday and they have some pretty good music lined up for this weekend. Hopefully I can get there to catch a night or two of it. I've got to get back to work, but I'll leave you with my list of thanks. Have a wonderful day!

~brooke

1. I am thankful for my friends and family who are always there supporting me no matter what.

2. I am thankful for my job that allows me to live a comfortable lifestyle and also finish my education.

3. I am thankful that I have someone in my life that is completely wonderful. I love him. :)

4. I am thankful for my past and all the mistakes I have made. If they had not happened, I wouldn't be here today.

5. I am thankful for those people who have taught me and been an example to me.

6. I am thankful to be living in this country. No matter our faults, it is still better than most places.

7. I am thankful for all those who fought so that we do have the right to complain about this country's faults, and all the other comforts that we enjoy.

8. I am thankful for everything that God has provided for me and the opportunity that He has given for me to live on this earth and be a light to others.
