This Pleonast thing is out of hand. I spend way too much time here. I'm slacking at work, I'm neglecting my family.

It's been so long since I logged in I forgot my password on the first try.

Since the last post, I got a new job with a new boss in a new facility on a new shift, a new house in a new state, started going to a new church and made new friends. I turned 28, my wife turned ??, my oldest turned 4, my youngest turned 3, and I hit the 7 year mark of my marriage.

Other than that, it's the same old say mold.

I admit I counted several partial viewings, though.

A man walks into a city office to dismiss his ticket for no proof of insurance. He takes number 543 at exactly 7:00pm and is given an estimated wait time of 31 minutes. He notices that number 536 is currently being served. His number gets called at 7:58pm. If there are 3 available representatives handling cases, then figure out the average amount of time spent on each case from the time the man takes his number to the time he is called not taking into consideration the 10-15 minute breaks that each worker took between each case for joking around, going to the bathroom, getting water, reading books, etc and the times that a number was called for an individual who was wise enough to leave and the case worker waited 4-12 minutes for them to respond.

We’ll need to know the total number of people served:

543 – 536 = 7 people served


and the total amount of time for case work:

7:00pm to 7:58pm is 58 minutes x 3 caseworkers = 174 minutes total


Then simply divide the total time by the total number of people

174 minutes 7 people             = 24 minutes per person
