Merry Christmas News Post
Hello family and friends!
It’s amazing how fast 2009 has gone, and that we are again writing our yearly newsletter to you. We hope that your year has been happy and productive. Ours was busy, but full of opportunity and fun!
We were blessed to be able to make lots of exciting trips this year. In March, we traveled to Indianapolis, IN, to hear Eliza’s brother sing with the Florida College Chorus. Then, in June we took our 2 year anniversary trip to Hocking Hills, OH. We stayed in cabin and did lots of hiking. For Eliza’s 21st birthday in September, we took a trip to see her cousin in Russellville, KY. Lastly, in October we had a week long stay in Williamsburg, VA. We learned about the patriots and their way of life, ate at colonial style restaurants, and watched the daily reenactments. While we were there, we drove the hour to Sandbridge Beach, VA. We spent a gorgeous day picnicking on the beach, playing in the sand, and wading in the water.
Josh has been busy – both with work at American Electric Power and preaching. He continues to enjoy his job with AEP as a Customer Design Engineer. This past month his boss gave him the opportunity to begin to work in Canton, instead of New Philadelphia. This is an exciting change for us; Josh will only be driving 6 miles to and from his job instead of 60 each day! In addition, Josh is currently preaching 3 Sundays each month at 3 different places. He is enjoying all the occasions to preach God’s Word, meet other Christians, and the chances to grow spiritually. His abilities are certainly growing, and he is starting to expand his talents to other areas. Two weeks ago, he led singing for the very first time (and did well at it, I might add)! When he isn’t at work or preaching, you will find Josh working on a project around the house or in the garage. Last winter he built me a pantry, and this winter his goal is to finish our basement. He already has two walls framed up!
Eliza has had an active 2009 as well. She still works part time at Chase bank and was promoted to a 25 hour/week teller. She likes the extra hours and
says it is the perfect schedule. On her days off, she is always busy around our house. She has made curtains for our living room and unpacked lots of boxes that haven’t been seen since we moved 2 years ago! Over the summer, she tended our vegetable garden and her flowers. In her spare time, she still enjoys scrap-booking and making cards. Much of Eliza’s time this year has gone into deepening friendships in this area. She strives to talk to those who need a friend and encourages them to get involved. In April, Eliza hosted a teen girl’s sleepover – which was a big hit! Every time I preach, Eliza comes with me and greets all the folks with a smile. She truly is my helper! In addition, Eliza helps organize monthly Bible studies and teaches the 2 & 3 year olds Bible Class at church.
The Lord has been very good to us in 2009. We are grateful for His blessings and count each day as a gift. We hope that your 2009 was wonderful and we are sending best wishes for a fantastic 2010! May God bless you as you strive to serve Him!
Love always,
Josh and Eliza Miller
