Life remains busy. Got home on Saturday morning and left the next Wednesday night for Florida with Nancy. Went to services in Montgomery, spent the night in Dothan, had breakfast with Kay and on to Tampa to FC. Got to see Paul's office and meet his co-workers and spend time with Paul and Amy. Went to IKEA which was really cool--had never been there before. Saturday Nancy dropped me off at my brother's house and I went to my nephew's wedding while she went to visit her uncle. Drove to Tifton and were exhausted, but no room in the inn, so on to Macon. Services Sunday a.m. at Powers Ferry in atl, home in time for the 3 p.m. singing and 4 p.m. for our meeting which started on Sunday with Bob Waldron. Services each night this week, two to go--he is doing a wonderful job as you would expect. Happy to be off tomorrow since the market is closed for Good Friday. Looking forward to the long weekend, except my to do list is as long as my arm--I need two more weeks off for that. Everyone have a wonderful weekend!

I think I only post when I am on vacation. We left Cullman on March 7 and went to services at Rolling Hills outside Nashville and then on March 8 we flew to Italy!!!! We returned to Nashville on March 23 and then home to Cullman on Saturday the 24th. It was a wonderful trip and we are recovering nicely from jet lag. I have edited my pictures down to around 2800. We went to Trieste first and stayed there until Tuesday when we took the train to Venice to join the tour that Leon Mauldin was conducting. We went to Venice, Pisa, Florence, Sorrento/Amalfi Coast and Rome. Rode in a gondola, a horse and buggy, the train, the Metro, taxis, cars and buses--and walked a million miles. Worshipped with Italian brethern in Trieste, Monfalcone and Poggiomarino. The tour went to Poggiomarino for worship--we basically doubled their number for worship and it was a very emotional experience. David Thomley taught us the words to the Italian hymns that we would be singing and it was just amazing. Lunch or dinner at 4 unbelievable Italian restaurants. Many stories to tell.

Have baked the cookies I was going to take to the cookie swap on Saturday--but woke up with inner ear issues so i didn't get them baked and didn't make it to the party.

I had a wonderful week off--Jim and Linda got here on Monday afternoon around 1:30 and Bill and Kay got here around 6:45 Monday night. We went to dinner at a local restaurant here we just love and then stayed up WAY to late for us old folks--but we had a ball. Bill and Kay left Tuesday after lunch and Jim and Linda left Wednesday a.m. We had such a great time--wish everyone was closer.
Wednesday a.m. I went to the dentist--another crown--that will make 3 this year. Glad to have dental insurance that covers some of it. After dentist went for massage and she really has helped my back issue. Went from Wednesday to Saturday before I had the next twinge.
The rest of my week was spent stripping wallpaper from the spare room--the last room in the house that we have not worked on. Thankfully whoever wallpapered had put sizing on the wall so it is coming off fairly easily--not quite done, but a few more hours will get it I think. I have decided to paint it gray--and I have found some bedding and curtains I just love--trying to talk myself out of them--they are a little pricey--but haven't seen anything else I like as well. We are going to do crown moulding (is that spelling right?) and tall baseboards.
I love my house--and how it's decorated but it takes me forever to decide and sometimes in the course of deciding some of those things I bought early on don't work when I finally make up my mind how I want it.
So--it was back to work yesterday--and it was a long day

Just a quick update because I must get to bed. Steven and I are fine and there was virtually no issues with the weather in our neighborhood. Cullman County, however, has several areas that were severely affected by the storms. The amount of destruction in the downtown area of Cullman is unbelievable--and as bad as the pictures look--seeing it is much worse. Thankfully we have only two reported deaths to date from the storm--many areas in Alabama have many, many more. Please pray for all those involved in the relief efforts and for all those who have lost family, friends and homes. We have power but at this point do not know anyone else who does unless they have a generator.
Sounds like your whirlwind trip was as crazy or crazier than ours. Love road trips with girlfriends, though. 26 hours of talking nonstop! :-)
