Finally, it's here! I've enjoyed the few hours I've been up and I still have a whole day full of OU football, baseball playoffs, and a Nascar night race to to distract me from all the chores I should be doing. When you grow up being dragged to all your brother's sporting events you tend to either hate them or become a fan. I can't play sports very well but I do love to watch them. Brett doesn't complain!
Braces update: Scrambled eggs are pretty easy to swallow.
I want to try making banana bread but I'm not sure how. I have a couple of receipes to look at but if anyone has one they'd swear by or even some baker's secrets please share.

I would have added a painful color to this enrty but I haven't figured that out yet. I hate to admit it but after a mere 36 hours in my orthodontic treatment - I AM MISERABLE. Eating is officially no fun anymore. It takes me at least an hour! No kidding! I thought oatmeal would be okay for breakfast but you get the little oats everywhere. I have to work so hard just to keep the food in my mouth my cheek muscles start to ache. I'm learning the fine art of discreet gumming. They are good for something though - creating pouty lips. No good to have nice pouty lips if you can't kiss anyone because your teeth hurt so badly. I'm trying very hard not to be one of the whiney patients that we at the office have such a hard time with. Ibuprophen fixes most anything.
I am normally off on Fridays. Mon. - Wed. we see patients and Thurs. is an administrative day. It's a great set up. There are lots of things you can get done on a Friday. You can be the first one to a sale, have lunch with friends, stay at home and catch up on housework, etc... Not the 2nd Friday of every month. We go to our satellite location, about 15 minutes away, and work in another doctor's office. We stay busy but that extra day is tough. Brett (my husband) who works a normal 5 day work week all the time doesn't feel very sorry for me when I only have to do it once a month. Days like this I need to be reminded that I like him.
If you all have any helpful tips on navigating through this pleonast "thing" (what do we call it?) let me know. I'm really enjoying it. It's like a diary that all my friends read.
I hope Friday has been good for you all. Here's to a great weekend.

Well, after working for an orthodontist for a year I finally took the plunge! I got braces today. I'm actually at work on my lunch break trying to eat and it's a bit messy. Sorry, Angel, for all those times I laughed at you. They are cool. I got ceramic brackets so I'm not full of metal. I'll have to find someone who can help me post a photo. I'll be babysitting tonight. It's a great setup. I get there after 5 and the kids' bedtime is around 8. Easy, breezy, beautiful, babysitter! I'm so excited to have new people to chat with. I'm going to be a border-line computer geek now. That's risky. Thanks everyone for welcoming me! Over and out!

Yeah well, Angel told me all about this and so here I am. I'm such a follower. I don't have any cool digital accessories to help me in my presentation but I can entertain you with my words. Poop! So there, write me!

I think the bread is best when the bananas are way over-ripe, mushy, and dark!!
Are you still in Oklahoma? If so, where? We were in Wichita this past week...how far is that from you?
What ortho do you work for? Dr. Van Nolin was my ortho growing up :-)
