My baby hurt her baby finger at soccer yesterday.

Don't know if it's broken or not. Probably so, but I guess we will check it out Monday. She's not wanting to go to an ER after her last experience and doesn't want to have to sit and wait to be seen for hours. All they will do is x-ray it anyway and send us to The Orthopaedic Institute. (I don't want to go and be exposed to whatever flues and viruses their other patients might have. ) We only had $50 left to pay them from her elbow injury, but surely this injury won't be as expensive as that one...hopefully, it will just need to be wrapped to the other one.

Definitely wise to avoid the ER. When my Charlotte broke her arm we took her to the ER and they did a bunch of x-rays, thought it was out of socket and tried several times to put it back in even though it was already in, splinted it and sent us to the orthopedist the next day. The only thing the ER did give us: the flu. Poor Charlotte was not even 2 yet and had the flu and a big pink cast on her arm.

Update! Jason looked at it and said it's not dislocated and the bone is still the way it should be. He said all they would do IF it is broken, is splint it and wrap to the finger beside it, so we bo't a splint at Walgreens and she is getting to where she can move it. So glad that was an easy injury to deal with!

More fun times!

Wed. night just before Rebecca and I left for church, a friend from the church where I first became a Christian called and told me she was coming to visit Thurs. around 3! We enjoyed catching up. I haven't seen her in about 3 or 4 years and I knew her in Ft. Lauderdale. I'm really enjoying these opportunities to catch up with sisters from my past!

Sat. I had a lot of fun!

I got to meet with a friend of mine that I haven't seen in almost 40 years! She took me to VBS when I was in elementary school. We were very good friends in elementary school. They moved to Ocala when we were in 10th grade. (I lived in Ft. Lauderdale at the time.) I had no idea where Ocala was back then, but she was in town last weekend and we got together. It was so wonderful! She was so happy to hear that I had become a Christian in 11th grade and because our lives took the same path serving The Lord, it was just wonderful reminiscing, sharing photos of our families and trying to catch up. Sharing the same values and ideals. I told her I remembered them showing us the baptistry at VBS , but that's all I remember about it. It was just different than the Methodist church where I went. Prior to that experience she must have mentioned that they 'didn't believe in musical instruments'. I don't remember exactly what she said, but I told her that I carried this questioning image of what her car must have looked like without a radio in it!! She tho't that was so funny!!!

I will cherish our day together Saturday for many years to come, but I do look forward to her next visit!

What a fun time!! My mom used to go to a Pentacostal church with a friend and her family when she was a little girl. She loved the experience of getting into her dress, riding in the car with the family, and learning about Jesus. It wasn't until she was in high school that her mother began taking the family to the coC. She found she loved the services even more bc there wasn't any of the distracting behaviors she witnessed at the other church. She does thank her friend for introducing her to Christ and is grateful to her for sharing her family (birth and christian).
