Vacation At Home

Dan and I took a couple of vacation days last week to just spend some time together and do some fun things within driving distance of our home. It was actually a lot of fun. We enjoyed breakfast out each morning, a visit to the American Cave Museum, a tour of Hidden River Cave, a trip to the zoo, and the Mega Cavern tour.

I thoroughly enjoyed having some time to spend with my husband. But, now its back to work!

I had a great few days with my family last week. The highlights were:

* Meeting my newest cousin, baby Sam
* Riding a horse for a few brief minutes
* Going to the Tractor Pull and getting absolutely soaked within 20 minutes.
* Walking back to the car in a downpour, driving back home in wet clothes, and then changing into dry clothes so that we could head back to to the Pull.
* Finally arriving back at the Pull to enjoy a dry, cool evening while eating lots of nachos.
* Celebrating Dad's birthday

Dan and Pebs were supposed to come down and meet me for the weekend. However, due to Dan's workload, they never made it down. So, needless to say, I was glad to be back home and reunited with them. :)

Trying to hold onto what is left of the summer.....

I am currently enjoying a few vacation days with my family in TN. My husband was gracious enough to be without me for a while so that I could spend some long overdue time in Shelbyville. My super busy time at work begins soon and I really needed to take some days off while I can get them. I arrived at Mom and Dad's last night and will be here until Sunday night.

Today, I was able to spend some precious time with my Rader grandparents, who I haven't seen since Christmas.

It feels so good to have some days off with the family. But, of course, I miss Dan! Hopefully he can join me for the weekend.

Well, I'm off to eat at my favorite joint in these parts.....El Mexico!!

We were able to take advantage of an anniversary special at Opryland Hotel this past weekend. We took Thursday and Friday off and went down. It was very relaxing and not nearly long enough...but we were able to recharge our batteries a bit. Enjoy the pics.
