This weekend Dena and I had the chance to visit North Carolina! We left Thrusday and drove to my house, in Asheville and suprised my parents. Then After I stayed there for one night we picke up my mom and we all drove to Concord! Aunt Nancy (Nancy Tumlinson) was holding a woman's seminar this weekend about the importance of us "older christian women" to teach the younger children the word of God. Her material was amazing and it was very encouraging to sit in a roomful of Christian ladies.
Friday night Kory and Wesley
drove up from Florida to visit with us. On Saturday we went to lunch at Moes, went to paint pottery and took lots of pictures. The one above is my favorite of the weekend. I felt blessed to spend my weekend with some of my closest and dearest friends. If you do not know the Mullinax family or Aunt Nancy I recommend that you get to know them. They are amazing people! Right now I'm back in my apartment... by myself =( All my roommates are out of town but will be back at the earliest tomorrow. I wish everyone a wonderful week! Good luck to all the WKU students starting school back next week!
Love you all!
and I had christmas tonight! It was so much fun to all be able to sit around and enjoy each other's company. After "Christmas" was over we all went to eat and then to the WKU basketball game! Tonight I realized how wonderful it is to have Christian friends around me up here! I had the privilege to sit around all my roommates
, Keith, Amanda, Brandon, Jonathen and some others. In the section right beside us there were a lot of students, most of who were our age or younger, who were completly drunk. They sat through the whole game yelling, cussing, and knockin' back drink after drink. I realized how lucky I was to be where I was, around people who wanted to do what was right! I love postivie peer-pressure, positive influences and all my Christian friends who I know are a blessing from God. Thank God daily for all the blessings you recieve.
Only a few more exams left until I get to go home. I can't wait! I'll be home on Friday! Keep me in your prayers, as I will you, during this stressful time =)
So this week and next are going to be crazy! There is so much work to do and a few tests to prepare for! Right now I'm being a slacker but I'm sick of doing homework! It's time like these that I really miss home! Here's some things that I really miss...
--> I miss my kids (from left to right Lucie, Lillie, and Caroline then Mason, Gavin and Payton) I get to see them over Thanksgiving!
-->I miss my Mom alot! I haven't seen her in a couple of months but get to see her next week!
-->I miss the mountains! I'll be driving through them next week!
-->I miss my boyfriend, a little I guess ;)! I get to see him next week!
-->I miss Deen Deen. I only live 5mins. away from her but haven't been around her in a while! I'll see her tomorrow! Today was "Dena and Sarah day" but it got interupted when Deen got sick :/
I think everything will be ok after next week! So I'm starting a countdown and will just push myself through this week and the beginning of next! ONLY 5 more days until I'll be home!
I'm having a sleepover at my house tomorrow night! High Schools girls and some college girls! It should be a lot of fun!
I hope everyone is doing good! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday with their family! Be thankful for everything always!... not just on Thanksgiving =)
PS--- What do you miss?
So a lot has happen since I posted last... which was a long time ago! Let's see most recently.....
went to the Nickelcreek concert!
I was literally leaning on the stage! It was so great! And then afterwards I stood right behind Chris and Sara while they played... GOOD times!
And then Wesley
came to see me...
The trees are changing colors and it is beautiful!
We ate carmel apples, saw a lot of apples and apple cider and even got a pumpkin to take home!
I miss him
so much, but it was great to see him! Class are so hectic right now and we just registered for new classes today! I hope everyone is doing great! Leave me a message and let me know what new with you!
Love you all,
should drop by again!
It's been a while so.... let's see... things you should know...
--I went to Nebraska to see my Wesley
. It was awesome I loved meeting Wes' family and seeing where he spends his time, when he's not with me =) I was really glad I spent time with other people too
. I went to Kansas City and had a really fun time on Saturday meeting LOTS of new people!
-- I moved to Bowling Green and started going to school at WKU! I really love it up here. It is a little weird to see people smoking cigarettes on the way to class and talking about drinking parties at night. Other then that Western is awesome. I think classes will be challenging but really fun too! I have an FC person in all but 1 of my 5 classes so I'm excited about that too. I'm excited that meeting new people might give me more oppurtunities to speard the gospel... pray for that!
--I went to WKU's 1st football game of the season tonight where we dominated (63-3) something like that! We had our own little "FC section" so it was A LOT of fun! Everyone should come to Western so we can all hang out at football games together!!! After that my roommates and I went over to Keith Dickey, Byron Fanning, Shaun Liszt and Cory Fieldings house with Nic Gardner, David Jenkins and Jerid Gunter and wathced Zoolander, one of the funniest movies EVER!
--It's late, I need sleep but only 2 classes in the morning... I'm done by 10 AM! Everyone keep in touch! I miss FL/FC people and will hopefully get to see you guys soon!
PS-- It's hard without him
