Today was Holly's final radiation treatment. She is still in an experimental treatment where she goes every 3 weeks for receptin (sp?). Please continue to pray for her - that the chemo and radiation have been successful and she will soon regain her strength. She is an amazing and resilient woman!

Holly got the green light and will have her first chemo treatment tomorrow morning (Thursday). Please pray for her health/stamina and ultimate success over her cancer. Thanks!

WHAT?!!!

Today is the day my good friend Holly was to start her chemo for breast cancer. Yesterday afternoon/evening as we were getting our food at Panda Express, she received a phone call from the doctor's office telling her NOT to come in this morning until they called her. Why? - because the insurance company has not approved her treatments yet. (The doctor did not want her making a possibly unnecessary trip to Valencia in case they did not get the OK in time. Very commendable of their part. It's the insurance company we are so now VERY frustrated with!)
So, how is Holly dealing with it today? She is moving bedroom furniture. So typical that she would pick such a project to keep her occupied!
I will post when we know when the treatments are a "go"....

Holly Dixon - Prayer request

My dear friend and sister in Christ, Holly Dixon (sister of Eve Bramhall), has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She went last Wednesday for a lumpectomy and the doctor was very optimistic as the initial test came back negative, but he removed 5 lymph nodes and some surrounding tissue to absolutely positive. He then had another good report for her at her follow up appointment on Monday, but told her to see the radiologist on Thursday and him again. You can only imagine my dismay (understatement) when I received this email from her this morning:

I went in for my follow up visit with the doctor yesterday. i was expecting him to tell me when I would start the 5 weeks of radiation. Unfortuately my final path report says i have HER2 breast cancer. Less common and very aggressive. So it look like 5months of chemo and radiation followed by a year of some other drug. I'm going to need a little time to digest and accept this.
I would ask for your continued prayers.
Thank you for your love and support this far. The cards, meals, favors and prayers.
I feel very loved.

My family and I are currently in New Mexico for our daughter, Jenni's graduation. So I am not there to give her the hugs yet that I so want to.
So PLEASE pray for her and her family.

Eve update:

Eve goes tomorrow for her sixth (and Lord willing FINAL) chemo treatment. The doctor's reports so far are very encouraging, and her attitude is positive due to her faith. Please continue to keep her in your prayers that she is and will remain cancer free!

    I heard the prognosis for Eve looks really good. Only a 10% chance of it returning within a couple of years - and that is a long shot. Rejoicing and praying....
