The Piano Guys

Nearly 3 years back, Rebecca posted a video of The Piano Guys. I saw it, was duly impressed, and didn't think of looking for more. Recently, Anaja posted a newer one of their videos, and this time I started looking for more. So here's a sampling of some of their better ones, some done by the actual group, or by a guest.

This first one I think the Perzs would enjoy in particular.

Pirates of the Caribbean:

One comment I saw one here, that was exceptionally amusing, but spoils the ending, I share, in black, so you can highlight it to read it after watching: "he...sat...on...the...piano... AND HE STLL SOUNDED BETTER THAN ME!!!!"

For the Star Wars fans out there, a fairly cheesy, but quite entertaining Star Wars Parody:

And of course, the original one (Though not the original posting, since that got taken down due to legal issues.). And it's still my favorite, even with how good the other ones are.
Love Story Meets Viva La Vida:

I would do more, but there are probably too many up already, so just go watch them yourselves. They are worth the time. =)

Enjoy!

Hey, my name's Brian Hamilton. I've seen you around on Pleonast, and I know we know a few of the same people. I'm not normally one for befriending random people on the internet, but when I saw your post about The Piano Guys, I just had to get to know you; I love The Piano Guys' videos, especially the ones you listed. I must say, though, that you missed a couple, such as this one:

    And this one:

I don't know if you've seen them or not.

It's still a huge work in progress, but I would like to get it done eventually. It's part of a universe that I'm creating (referenced in the post, I believe), which is an even bigger work in progress. It's pretty fun to look up how languages, and their scripts and such, develop; it's quite helpful for developing one's own language (which isn't quite worth mentioning, it's really obvious when you think about it).

Well, I guess I sort of botched that plan for you, haha.

My family name is descended from Scotland, I've been told, which is pretty awesome; I've always like Scottish accents.

Charlemagne and William the conquerer are pretty awesome connections. Scottish is all I really know about my family name. It would be pretty awesome to be related to Alexander Hamilton, but I have no idea, myself. Reading up on it just now, his father was of Scottish descent, but it seems most of his descendants were born in Ireland, so I don't think there's any direct lineage there, but perhaps a more complicated path of relation.

I didn't know too much previously, only that your name was Hamilton and that you had a twin, but that's about it. Also we're mutual friends with Jonathan Engel, and I believe also the Craigs. My father is Tom. I don't know about meeting any other Hamiltons myself, I think I would've remembered that, but honestly, it's really not too far-fetched that Dad would meet someone I didn't. What's your Dad's name?

Well, whatever the connection, I have no idea, and I have no idea how to find it.

I haven't actually known the Engels for very long myself, though I have known of them. Jonathan is the one I was most familiar with, 'cause he went to FC with my eldest brother, Michael. I only recently (a little over a month ago, not long before the FC lectureship, if your familiar with it). Greg and Colleen have actually been going to our congregation for a while now, ever since she got a job at FC. It was around when they first came when I actually started getting acquainted with them all.

I actually don't know the whole Craig family. I've only met the four oldest girls, Kathryn, Caroline, Emily, and Stefanie. Rebekah, I met through Pleonast, but we're friends on Facebook now as well. I think, since you've mentioned him, I've seen your Dad around Facebook too.

You mention Homeschool camp people, are you one yourself? I've never gone, I just happen to know a lot of people that do.

Aw, that's too bad they are around the same time; singings are fun, but I would never wish to miss lectures. This past lectureship is where I first met the Perzs; though I knew of them before that, and that they went to HS Camp, no communication had taken place until then. Though I've never been to Homeschool Camp, I know quite a few people that have been, as you listed, and I'm always eager to meet more; the circle of people connected to HS Camp are awesome. How many would you estimate actually do go to HS Camp? I've never been sure of the number, I just knew "a lot" did.

That's quite a bit of people. I didn't know the Driedgers were HS Camp people; I met Connie through her going to FC, and I met her younger sister, I believe her name was Sharon, during lectures. That's pretty cool. I'm constantly being surprised by how many people I already know have gone to HS Camp!

Yes, I am Homeschooled. Me and all my siblings; there are eight/nine of us. I say, "eight/nine," because we are currently in the process of adopting a small, six-year-old Korean boy, named Zachary. It's been quite a nightmare (the other adoptive parents are quite difficult). We've already adopted two children from French Guinea, Africa; their names are Aminata (pronounced "Ah-mee-net-uh," or just "Ah-mee" for short) and Andrew, ages seven and four.

I've thought about how cool it could be, but I honestly don't think my family can afford to send me to three different camps a year (FC Camp and Indiana Bible Camp), let alone one that's in a different state. Perhaps a cheaper, more convenient opportunity might present itself in the future.

The most inconvenient part, that comes to mind, is the fact it's in the Fall. Dad works at FC, and to just skip a week isn't easy. Then there's driving all the way from Florida (where we live, during the Fall-Spring). And there's still the cost; I doubt my family could afford the camp and the drive. I just don't see us doing it, with my family being one to do things only if it's convenient and cost efficient (what family isn't? At least, what family that isn't loaded*).

I laughed about that!! Josh actually gets four books, two superhero bios (Marvel or DC Encyclopedias), a Bible story, a chapter from the Bible AND a chapter of Redwall (we do the last two as a family)! I guess he's a lucky little guy! ;)

We also like to read novels to the kids...and have read a lot of novels as a family. We chose The Redwall Series this time because there were so many to read and everyone loved them. Plus, Hannah is *always* reading LOTR. She hogs up our books and has all the poems and songs memorized ;)! I plan to read The Hobbit to Josh soon. He wasn't quite interested just yet so I'm waiting a bit!

That would be cool to meet, but I can't say I'll manage to go so far west as Nebraska any time soon. Are there any events that might bring you a little closer, aside from HS Camp?

Who's your family in Northern Alabama? I've got family in Bermingham. My cousin, Joe, and my uncle both live there.

Our family travels to our house in Indiana every Summer (and sometimes for Christmas, when we can); that's where we lived before Dad got a job at Florida College. That's when we go to Indiana FC camp and Indiana Bible camp. We don't do much travelling other than that.
