I don't understand

Why do Protestant have such a problem with Catholics? I've noticed this lately and it astounds me. It also amazes me how ignorant most Protestants are of Catholic faith and of Christian history in general.

The problem with "Catholics" as well as with "Muslims" is the fact that they are wearing a label that someone else put on them. Every person, regardless of their label or supposed leaders, acts and believes in ways that they choose. We can't judge anyone by the label that the media - or we ourselves, based on a few good experiences - give them. Each person must stand alone before God, in the end, and I would much rather be concerned with the individuals that I know and can influence, than be fear- and hate-mongering over huge groups of badly labeled, supposedly religious people whom I don't even know. One of the sadest things about all this is that the labels are so often based upon the books and leaders that the people supposedly follow - and we all know how little the majority of any of us actually follow our books and teachers in our daily lives!

I slip over and check out the Islam watcher group from time to time to see if there's any good news or work there, but I hadn't read this particular thread before - and it was the latest one. I hope you have a good day - please don't let my comments get you down, just think of them as something to step up off of while you're looking for the Better Way. :) Here's to the upward climb...

Well, considering Protestants carry that name because their religious "ancestors" were protesting against practices of the Roman Catholic Church...They're mutually exclusive belief systems. You can't do both.

So apparently like 5 people at work decided to take vacations during the same week. This leaves me and about 4 other people to pick up the slack. I get to work every single day this week from opening time to closing time. I'm not complaining, though. Anyone who works knows that more hours equals more money, and that's always a nice thing.

In other news, we now have a foosball (sp?) table at the house. I believe my feelings about this can be summed up quite nicely by the words Woo and Hoo. WooHoo!!!!

It's a very odd story. Also, it seems as though I'm spending my summers in places I never really wanted to go. Maybe next year I'll make it out to L.A. or something.

So I just got back from seeing The Omen. If you haven't seen the movie yet don't waste your money. Rather boring and very predictable. The old version was better. Meh. Movies that are let downs always suck.

That is all.
  • wareagleabs
I'm definately seeing it. And I heard it was almost scene for scene identical to the old one.

The old one was still better. Some movies are just better the first time around. Like Psycho...the old version was better even though some of the newer versions are almost the same.

Well I never saw the first one so I'm excited.

"The Omen", huh? Sounds like it'd be a good book...not much of a movie buff, though. Can't take much in movies, but I'm always pushing it with books.

OK, so I didn't like it like I thought I would. But I also don't think I'd like the original either. Just didn't care for the story line. Catholic stuff gets on my nerves...

    Are you Catholic?

Because it's a bunch of nonsense that has absoultely nothing to do with Christianity or the bible. I don't even know where to start with Catholics. I think the only thing that they believe that Christians believe is that there is a God and Jesus is His Son. I would be a Muslim before I became a Cathlic.

Random Thoughts

I went to bed early tonight hoping I would wake up around 8 or 9 AM. Such wishful thinking. Mignight rolled around and here I am wide awake. A natural night owl. My room smells like burnt popcorn for some reason. I have to pay rent tomorrow...that's always depressing. I think someone just got up and went to the bathroom. I should probably do laundry at some point today. I'm eating a 3 Muskateers bar right now...I don't even like 3 Muskateers. I guess when you eat something that you don't even really like that's when you know you're a fat kid on the inside. Lalalalalalalala....boredom sucks.I don't understand why more people can't be awake at this hour. I should probably get some kind of job where I can work a grave yard shift. You know what I don't understand? People who wake up at 9 AM on a Saturday. Why would anyone voluntarily get up that early in the morning?

I'm with you on the graveyard shift. That's what I've been looking for.

I'm thinking about applying for a job on the night shift at Kroger. I would get to work from like 9:00 PM to 3 or 4:00 AM. Which would be perfect hours for me.

Finals!

So finals week is finally here. Woo hoo, I guess. It seems weird that I've already gotten through my first year of college. Do you know this year was the first time I have ever had to take a comprehensive exam? They suck! No wonder everyone in high school always complained about them.

The hallways in the dorms look like a refugee camp since everyone has started packing up all of their stuff. Getting through the maze of boxes in the hallways makes me feel like I'm in the labyrinth. Luckily for me, I don't have to worry about trying to cram all of my stuff in my car at once. Since I'm staying here for the summer at a house that's all of 5 minutes away, my move out will be relatively easy. Yay!

I wonder if it's odd that I'm not actually looking forward to summer. Summers always get boring after awhile, at least for me. Plus I always feel so damn unproductive, like I'm just wasting 3 months of my life. Not to mention that I won't get to see all of the cool people I met this year until next semester :(
