Tomorrow is two years! It seems like it has flown by and been a long, long time all at once. I think that's a good thing.
Our trip for our anniversary has been so, so, so much fun! We're enjoying the sights and getting to spend some time with my aunt and uncle. The landscape here is incredibly beautiful!!!
Yesterday I had a revelation about the trip. In less than 24 hours we used all the major forms of transportation: car, train, airplane and boat. We road the ferry to the island (the name slips me at the moment) and had dinner in the cutest little port town. The clam chowder was very yummy!
I'll try to post pictures soon. I got my camera out the first day we were here, took one picture and dropped it on the asphalt. Now I'm getting nothing but E18 on the screen and the lense won't extend. Luckily my aunt and uncle are loaning me their camera until we head home.
First coat of primer done! Just a couple more months and we should have it painted. Apparently, we don't believe in rushing a project. ;)
I really like the room a lot more already. It is so much brighter!
So, I am beginning to think that seven months without a new post might be a little long. ;)
Everything around the Clark home is great! Dion and I are working on small (financially), but huge (time consuming) home improvement projects. The beginning of last year we painted our kitchen, which only took 3 months and the beginning of this year we started painting our den...also known as the cave. Our den has super high ceilings (21 feet about) and has been a dark, orangy, brickish red color. We have gotten mixed reactions from visitors in our home from they politely ignore the hideous color, to comments on how lovely and dramtic the room looks. My reaction is slightly stronger than the first. So in January we bought a five gallon bucket if Kilz and set to work in February (yes, the primer sat in the garage for a month or so) to priming the massive walls. Today, I have completed "cutting in" all of walls areas that I can reach. Now I am ready to roll some of that primer on the walls, but the bucket is so huge that I can't lift it enough to pour it in a paint tray. Also, I don't dare try this because we are in the position to buy new living room carpet or live with primer soaked either. The rolling will have to wait until my big, strong husband gets home from work and can get the primer going for me. I'll have to post some before and after pictures once its done. That being said, you might not see those until Christmas. ;)
In other parts of life, I am still working full-time at the same job I started after Dion and I got married. I've been there for about a year and a half and just received a promotion. My supervisor is priming me for a leadership position within our department. We'll see how that goes. I don't mind working outside the home right now, but am looking forward to the time that I quit the corporate world. The main objective for me working is to pay of the ever looming student loans I racked up during college. That is scheduled to be paid off in August...Lord willing, and I think He does. After that business is done, Dion and I have plans for bigger home improvement projects. The list is not terribly long, but is very exciting. In no particular order:
Upgrade kitchen appliances
New kitchen countertops
New kitchen/den flooring (they are connected)
Bedroom furniture
New carpet in bedrooms, hallway, living room
More painting
Landscaping for the front yard (We need to increase our curb appeal)
I am excited about the prospect of these projects!!! I love do-it-yourself projects!
That's pretty much it for us. I wish I could say we were adding a new addition to our family. By new additon I mean a kitty, but for now it just me and my Dion. I'm happy with that. :)

Sunday marks our one year wedding anniversary! It is hard to believe its been a year, but at the same time it feels like we've known each other much longer. We have learned a lot in the past year, I hope that it just keeps getting better.
This time last year I was packing up the last bit of my stuff in Birmingham and moving it all to Georgia. Moving away from my family was a hard experience, mostly because I wouldn't be seenig them everyday. Now, I still miss my family, but the ache that was in me when I left, is now mostly just a memory. Dion is responsible for that (with God's help). Dion is the most wonderful husband I could ever ask for. I couldn't imagine a man with more love for God or me in his heart. I prayed that God would send me a godly Christian man for so many years. Let me tell you...it was SO worth the wait!!!!
I love you Dion! Happy Anniversary!

Its raining cats and dogs right now. I could not be more excited. This morning I heard on the radio that Lake Lanier is up several inches from the rain....so exciting! Thank you LORD for the rain!
In a couple of weeks Dion and I are schedule to take a week long vacation to go to the beach. We may or may not get to go to the beach, but we are going to have some sort of vacation one way or another. :) We might spend a few nights in a cabin at Gatlinburg. That should be fun, but its definately no comparision to the beach. :( Whether we get to go to the beach or not, depends on Jesse's dad's condition. He's taking chemo now, but is having some serious side effects from it. Please remember to pray for John Griffis and that the LORD will heal him from this cancer. Also, please pray for his spiritual condiiton. John is not a Christian.
Stacy is living with Dion and I. I think she's enjoying it for what its worth. I'm pretty sure she thinks Dion is a nut too. That's pretty much true. :) She's decided to be a member at Roswell CofC, which she seems to really be enjoying. She's happy to have a "church family" again. :)
Today make 10 months that Dion and I have been married. This has flown by! Wow! Dion is a great husband! I've been told by several of my other married friends that the first year is good, but the years to follow are great! I'm sure they will be!
I'm working full-time and Dion and I are diligently working to pay-off my student loan. I'm very excited! We are projected to have it paid off by June or July next year! Whoohoo! :) Then we have big plans for doing some updating to our house. Very exciting!
Last week we had a ladies night for the women at Mt. View. Anna, Jessica and I hosted a fondue party at our house. We had no idea how much work we were in for! We had a fantastic time! It only took us about an hour to get everything cleaned up once our party was over. I believe we figured out the maximum capacity for our house too. Its 20 ladies. :) We really can't hold more than that! I have pictures...I should post them.
Happy Anniversary!
Happy anniversary!! I feel the same way about my marriage...seems like just yesterday but it seems like forever (in a good way) too.
