I am SO ready for this school year to be over! I just brought a 2nd grade student to the office for giving me the middle finger from across the room and yelling "SHUT UP!!!!" When I got to the office, the ladies just looked at me and said, "well, what do you want us to do??" Whatever. Another teacher has that student now, so I'm over it.

But let me just tell you, as I was writing the above, one student started beating up another! I just broke up my very first fist fight! Bet the office wants me to just deal with this problem too.

The saddest thing about all of this? I am one of two teachers in the classroom, and all that we are doing is watching a movie,

only 5 days with students left...

Wow. Sorry you're having to deal with stuff like this.

they all are going wild...why doesn't admin see the craziness of going so long in the year...when all teachers are just giving their students busy work until school runs out. There is no learning going on. Its ridiculous.

It is amazing how low moral has sunk that teachers cannot even properly discipline their students. I would definately contact the parents, but they probably also will not administer the correct punishment, especially if their kids are doing those sort of things. Your father may be working with us in Vermont at the Milton Church of Christ. He was interested and sent us a letter asking if we wanted him to work with us. I'm not sure if he got the letter yet or not, but of course we are and everyone had signed it. This congregation has been two years without a preacher and I'm sure your father would be a dedicated worker. However, he will have a choice I guess between Texas, but I'll be praying for his arrival. Then maybe we'll see each other a little more often. And congrats on the wedding in September, I hope it all works out well.
