We arrived in Kentucky almost two weeks ago. We've enjoyed bonding with the grandkids and watching their Mommy and Daddy love and nurture them. Thanksgiving was shared with Nathan, Sarah, Kaelyn, and Jackson, John, Frani, Ross, and JO and Geneva. It was a wonderful day of shared times and yummy food!! We've played, laughed, hugged, and talked with Kaelyn and Jackson. Then Tuesday, Kaelyn went with us to Illinois. She's a great traveller and she met new friends at Mark's sister's daycare. Then, we shared fun times with second cousins (?). Then, we returned to KY for coloring, movies, reading, digging in the dirt with Jackson, and more love. Tomorrow we return to Texas and we'll miss our Kentucky family. Many memories to take home with us!!

We will have funeral visitation for my Daddy on Sunday afternoon, 2-4pm. The funeral will be on Monday, 1 pm at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin, Tx. Daddy was a faithful servant of the Lord for 70 years and he lived his life to God's glory. He will be missed, but he is now immortally arrayed in paradise. I am truly blessed to have had him for a father.

Today, Mark and I shared lunch with Daddy and Momma at Evening Shade to celebrate their anniversary. Momma took a photo album that had been made for their 60th anniversary and added some early wedded life photos. She and Daddy enjoyed the pictures. They've had a wonderful life as one and have been such a great example to us "kids". It was a precious time to share with them!!

Daddy is now living in an assisted living home in Alvin. It's a four bedroom home with room for 6 residences. Currently there are 4 residents there. The aides and nurses are very caring and seem to be attentive to needs. It's so nice and homey and they have let Momma have a rocker with ottoman in the large den and recliner in the bedroom, so she can be more comfortable when she visits him everyday. He seems to be settling in. Some days he is confused, but today he beat Momma at dominoes. He likes to win. :) Please pray for them both in this chapter of their lives.
Mark received a good report today on his eye surgery. He's not totally back to 20/20 in the right eye, but the surgeon released him and he can get new glasses in three weeks. Today with correction in the bad eye he could see 20/25. Hopefully, he'll continue to improve in the next weeks, too.
I've been going to physical therapy for a hip problem that I've had since September last year. Tomorrow, I may be released after 4 sessions. They have taught me stretching and strengthening exercises using a foam roller and stretchy band. I'm not totally healed, but I'm much better. I do clam, reverse clam, monster walk, bridges, bird dog and other exercises--funny names. I've gotten a good laugh at my uncoordinated self at times. :) I'll be happy when this is behind me, but I need to keep my strength up now, so this won't happen again. It's no fun! I'd really recommend physical therapy if you have problems. It's been very informative and helpful.

Daddy fell this morning after a long restless night at the rehab. He must have bumped his head and he's in the hospital again with bleeding beneath the skull. Mark's staying with Daddy tonight. Mark's eye surgery went well yesterday. The doctor removed a membrane from his retina. Now we hope the retina can return to it's proper shape so he can see clearly in his right eye. Continued prayers for Daddy and Mark are appreciated.
can't wait 'til you get to come back.
praying for a safe trip home.
we love you.
i love jack's take on algae.
he sure doesn't have any problem sounding out, "dude".
jack and kaelyn are so excited.
kaelyn was hopping around the room saying, "mamaw! mamaw!"
