Anyone heard of this song? Root Them Out

This is a song I found that was in a book from when my dad was a child. My aunt taught me the tune of it on vacation, and I thought it was a good one to introduce to my bible class.

Root Them Out

Root the out, get them gone.
All the little bunnies in the field of corn,
Envy, jealousy, malice and pride,
These must never in my heart abide.

Search them out, plant them in,
All the blessed virtues of the book within,
Kindness, thoughtfulness, peace and love,
All the other likenesses of Christ above.

It works pretty good with "This old man, he played one, he played knick-knack..." I'm thinking to make a visual of a corn field and add velcro for bunnies. Then remove them as we sing the first stanza. Then add ears of corn for the second stanza (on the corn stalks).

Very cool. I think you might be right. The tune almost sounds like that song, but I didn't think of a tune until you suggested that one.

"My God is So Big" (A song I little when I was much younger)

I thought I would share this song with everyone as it might be new to some people. It is always nice to have new songs to learn when teaching classes and VBS. This is a song I remember learning when I was much younger when I lived in Tennessee, and actually it was during Vacation Bible school week.

My God is so big
so strong and so mighty
There's nothing that my God can't do.
My God is so big
so strong and so mighty
There's nothing that my God can't do.
The mountains are his
the valley's are his,
the sky is his handiwork too.
My God is so big
so strong and so mighty
There's nothing that my God can't do.

Hey Guys!

I finally remembered my password so I can get on Pleo! Hope everyone has a good's Lord's Day tomorrow. Hopefully I haven't missed too much since I have been on here.

hey guys,

Once again It has taken me awhile to get back on here. I hope everyone is having a great week. Looking forward to Mary Poppins!! Only a couple of weeks away now. NOt too long ago saw Phantom of the Opera and it was great. Looking forward to New Moon coming on Nov. 20th!! There is another movie coming out on the same day with Sandra Bullock and that one looks good as well. It is a football movie based on a true story. Oh, and Carrie Underwoods new Albulm plus Taylor Swift's new Platinum albulm Plus the movie Up which was a really cute movie. Okay, so I remember some of the things featured at Walmart, but if they are something I am interested in then I remember them more. Congrats Matt and Kesa on the new baby boy, and Bryan and Emily. I am sure there are plenty of things that I have forgotten. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

You will LOVE Mary Poppins. We saw it in New York last summer and I'd definitely see it again. Matt wasn't too excited about seeing it but afterwards said it was really good.

I can't remember the name but I know the Sandra Bullock movie you're referencing. It looks like it's going to be a great movie. I still haven't seen Up. I'll have to rent it or something when it comes out. Amber said Taylor Swift's extra songs on that album were really good. I'll have to head over to iTunes to check it out.

Hope you have a good week!

Hey Guys!

It's taken me awhile to update on here. What can I say? I can't ever find the time to get on here anymore. Facebook seems to take up all of my time. I just went recently to see the Phantom of the Opera which was awesome!! I am looking forward now to seeing Mary Poppins in November. Please keep my mom in your prayers as she will have a day surgery on Wed. She has a cyst on her face that has to be removed. Thank you for anyone who offered to take or pick her up. It has all worked out, so I will be off that day. I hope everyone is having a great week. Also we have an upcoming meeting starting August 2nd with Ron Halbrook starting at 7:30 each night. Hope you guys can come!! I know it is going to be a great meeting. I always look forward to them!

I'm not sure what days we'll be there yet, but we're definitely coming at least one night.

I haven't talked to my coworker much b/c we were in Phoenix for the past 4 days but I do know her surgery got rescheduled due to some kind of miscommunication. I'll be able to talk to her today and have a better update. Thanks for asking!

If you enjoy musicals, I suggest Wicked. And if I suggest a musical, that's a big deal.

Have fun at Mary Poppins. I entertained the idea of coming for it, then I realized that is one month before my due date and I won't be allowed to fly at that time! Glad your mom's surgery went well. How is she feeling?
