Yes, I am still alive...

It has been over a year and a half since I posted on here..... wow.
Facebook had claimed my time, as I have to work with it as the social networking aspect of my job, and I have been lax to repost.
Since I was unemployed the last time I posted, let me updated any who don't know. I am working for the regional media branch of The New York Times, as a (big surprise) Web Developer.
In the meantime I have also gone back to college, and have a 3.86 gpa presently and a member of Phi Theta Kappa. That keeps me INCREDIBLY busy.
Add in quality time with the kiddos, and , most importantly, My Love, and I am strapped out.
And yet I still had enough time to crash a four-wheeler over New Year's weekend, and my should still aches from that.

I am a mess ;-)

But I am here once again.

Until then,
scottric

It has been a LONG time.......

I don't think anyone reads my page anymore.... Facebook used to have all my time until they went and changed... terrible.
ANYWAY, I lost my job this week. I have 12 weeks to find another job, in a "less than optimal" market.....
Hope and Prayer is what I will be living on until further notice.

Anybody need their lawn mowed? House painted? Dogs Walked?

Until Then,

Amy told me about your news. I'm so sorry but I am sure you'll find something bigger and better!!! When God closes a door, he always opens a window. Try wearing that T-shirt in your profile pic on an interview. That would be impressive!!!!! hehe

Oooh - so sorry. I know the job market's not great, but you know your stuff so I hope you'll get a good position quickly. I could use a babysitter...

Your name was lit up on my friends list; I thought you'd lost your job again until I read the last comment - from me! I'm glad this wasn't a new post!

Good luck on your weight loss goal. I agree with the other comments, though. Don't drop the lbs. too fast. It's not healthy, and you're likely to put them right back on. Make sure you're exercising, too.

New Blog.....

Hey Pleo Family,

I wanted to let you all know I started a new blog for the sole purpose of tracking my effort to be healthy.

253 by 05/23
My goal is to lose 100 pounds by my anniversary on May 23rd. I have 20 weeks, roughly 140 days, so that is less than a pound a day really, and I think it is do-able. But I need encouragement. Let me know how you feel about this goal, and help me be accountable.

Thank you all.

Until then,
scottric

Proud of you and I'll be interested in knowing how it goes.

However, from everything I've ever heard, a pound a day is too much too quickly and is not healthy. If I'm correct, a more reachable and healthy goal is about 3-5 pounds a week, which is about 1/2 of what you're shootin' for.

I might be wrong, but you might want to check into that just to be sure.

    Good luck!

come to weight watchers with me on Saturday mornings. It really works and it's more fun and easier if you have friends at your side.

i agree that 100 lbs, while a fantastic goal, may be a little much. The 3 lbs a week is more realistic and the weight will stay off much longer if it comes off slower.

Good luck! Whatever you do, just be healthy! I'll try not to be jealous. ;) (I still have to lose weight very slowly since Jack depends 100% on me for his health.) However much you lose, I know it will make you feel great. Stay strong!

She's right. Be healthy, get in a good cardio and a little weight routine and that should be great. Be careful of going without food you enjoy, because that'll cause you some crazy roadblocks. Sensible portion good exercise and you'll hit yer goal in no time!

When you pray for rain.....

Have you ever heard the saying "When you pray for rain, better carry an umbrella."? Well, that is what I am experiencing right now, work-wise. Sorry for the short posts or lack of communication, I am just swamped!!!!

Until then,
