Rhett's out of town again. He's been in San Antonio since Wed. He comes back Tuesday. Not soon enough that's for sure.
Shelby is opening up a little bit. She still runs away from me but she goes outside to go potty, she walks well with scotty and I, and she walks around the house to see what I am doing.
When Rhett left for the airport he left her loose in the bedroom thinking she wouldn't move from the corner of the room....WRONG. She found my flip flop and bit the strap in half. I couldn't help but laugh. I needed a new pair anyways. hehe. She later that night when I was sleeping found 3 socks and a pair of Rhett's boxers I had left in the corner of the room instead of putting them away. When I left for work the next day I put her in the kitchen with a baby gate (broken one) and a chair up against it. When I got home that night she had moved the chair away and squeezed between the gate and the wall and found one of Rhett's flip flops (not chewed). So needless to say we have to lock her up in her cage when we leave. Luckily she comes right out of it when I open it up...of course only when I leave the room.
Rhett and I might be moving into a townhome. We rent a house right now from a couple that have a reality company but he own's this house so I think our lease is a little flexible. It will probably take us about a month and half or more to get everything said and done so hopefully we will have some finances in order. At least if all goes well we will OWN the townhouse and it will surely help in equity and in taxes. Pray that everything works out for us. Big decisions like this I am always sketchy but my husband is so sure that everything will be great. Can't wait to move that furniture upstairs (not).
well, I better get up and get out of this house for a little while. I have seem to have lost my voice so for once I didn't have anything to do today so I have been in bed alllll day. Except for bathing Scotty cause I found a flea and then vaccuuming the house from possible fleas. I need to finish cleaning but Rhett told me to just rest. I bascially am wispering now.
have a great weekend all. xoxoxo
I came home from work and had just a few minutes to let the two dogs out. I had to pull shelby out of her cage to take her outside. scotty kept scaring her by running up to her to play (she doesnt understand what that means). anyways, some stupid kids thought it would be funny to try to sneak up on my other dog scotty....kids screamed, scotty barked, and shelby was gone. the lease slipped right out of my hand and she went as far as she could go, hung a right at the fence, then ran as far as she could go from there. when i finally found her she ran around me in circles for about 5 minutes til she got close enough where i could step on her lease. So i am heading home with her walking safely behind me then all of a sudden some stupid "taco bell" dog comes running across the street and scares her so much she wiggled out of her collar and lease. so now she has no I.D. and has no idea where she is. she doesnt know what a car is so of course she ran in front of a car just when i had her close to me and almost home again. she took off running complete opposite direction. the lady in the car stopped and offered to drive me down the street to get her. i got to the driveway where she was and she took off running back towards my house. the lady turned around in her car and started to take me towards shelby. as she did she said a prayer. a little odd but i relief actually because it calmed me down. how comforting to know that at a time like this, this lady remind me to always talk to God and He will be on your side. So shelby hung a right and then right again in between some houses. by then it was so dark i couldnt see. this neighborhood is very big and i walked almost the whole thing just trying to find her. finally as a friend was coming to help me i was talking to some ladies asking if they've seen her. all of a sudden a family came out of their house into the garage (which was open) only to find shelby hiding behind a couch that was in the garage. so i was able to get her out and get her safely in the house. i feel so bad for this little girl. i mean after all that i'm just thankful she didnt get run over.
i was petting her and realized that not only does she still have fleas (even after giving her frontline) i found a tick on her bed. so i am going to call around and get some quotes on mobile grooming and have them come out and shave her. we cant bathe her still for awhile but if they shave her then we can start from the bigging and kill anything that may be on her.
so needless to say it was a really crazy night and now i am on the couch dizzy, having neck pain and crazy jaw pain. i havnt eaten but i'm ready to just go to bed.
Thank you God for giving me the strengh to try to help this dog and also to help me find this dog.
is the name of our new dog rhett and i picked up on saturday. she is a 2 year old wheaton terrier. She is very shy and timid. She was rescued from a puppy mill in missouri and brought here to florida. so unfortunately she only knows to live, eat, sleep, and use the bathroom in her cage. she's never been outside but only to breed and then have her puppies taken away. I found out that when she got spayed on friday she was also pregnant with a litter of puppies but they euthanized them. I knew something wasnt right when i saw blood coming from her pee-pee area. So i was able to leave early and take her to the vet today. they told me that because of her being pregnant and spayed thats mostly the reason for her discharge. she has been nothing but shy and it takes everything to get her outside. the vet couldnt believe they didnt even give shelby pain medication or antibiotics. she also came with fleas and i dont think she's ever had a bath.
so the vet gave me medication for her and said she should be fine after awhile. it will take shelby a few months to get used to being in a good sheltered home with people that love her.
the vet shaved some of the hair from her beautiful orange/brown eyes. i think she is a little happier and a little less skidish of me.
so anyways....thats the newest exciting news in my life.
Married life is wonderful. My husband is gone alot with his job but even tho I am often asked "How do you handle that" I just tell them that the time apart draws us closer together. You really learn to appreciate each other more and the time you have with one another. When you want to argue, fight or disagree on something you think twice because you realize you don't want to waste that time being mad at each other. Granted, newly married life is not perfect...escpecially when you combine bills and buy new furniture etc but you learn to adapt and love each other. I do miss him alot when he is gone. Luckily I have a dog to keep me company and warm at night but his conversations are not usually as intellectual as they are with my husband if you know what I mean. You also learn to appreciate the little things. Like for him me scratching his back or for me him telling me I am beautiful everyday (which guys, never gets old). I am truly blessed.
My cousins pregnant which is way awesome. Better her than me honestly. I wanna travel and see the world before I begin to have a family. I wish her the best and she knows I am always literally 5 minutes from her.
Ajia (4 yr old-rhett's niece) was pushed off a slide at the park a few days ago and broke her left wrist and elbow and is now in a purple cast but she is cool with it. haha. She wants everyone to sign her cast but don't know how that possible since rhett wrote all across the top "bubby was here" and drew a spider web on her elbow like a tattoo. haha. She was so upset the only thing she kept saying was "I wan't papaw to pray for my arm"
she's a trooper tho.
Rhett's grandmother isnt doing too well so please keep her and his family in your prayers. She has parkenson's, had a stroke, and has pneumonia. It doesn't look to good.
Other than that everything else is just the same.
Hope all are doing well and I will talk to you later.
It's official. thank you all for the congrats and thoughts and love. i got my license with my new last name and recieved my ss card with my new name so i guess it is now officially official.
