For those that are wondering...
IT'S A BOY!!
I have missed keeping up with everybody's news! My life is pretty routine. Nothing especially exciting to share right now. Just thought I would let you all know that I am still around. :)
I am going to try to get on Pleo a little more than once every 5 months from now on. :)
I guess I should update since I haven't done so in a looong time.
Here's whats new: Work, work, work. No internet at work. No internet at home. No computer at mom's for the last month. No Pleo. No Webkinz. No surfing. Unplugged. AHHHHHHH!!!
In other news:
Shayla is ONE!!!!! She is doing so great! She got her new "Stride Rite's" on Saturday courtesy of Grammy and Papa. Since then, she has been walking everywhere! She was walking before but crawling was faster, so she resorted to that frequently. Her new shoes however give her the stability and confidence to walk more and more. We all had a great time at her party and she got some absolutely ADORABLE outfits (AWWWWW!!) Thank you all for the awesome gifts (you know who you are!)
She also got a couple of toys - one of which is a rocker (giraffe). She still has not mastered getting on and off. She usually falls on her face :( but once she is on, she rocks like a pro and hums a little tune. It is soo cute!
In other, other news:
Summer has come to a close and it was super fun for us so we are sad to see it go. We have made our bonds with our brethren stronger and have been fortunate enough to attend a weekly Bible study with the Sutherlands and Reeves. What a blessing! Ty is chipping away at schoolwork and loving his ABeka Academy DVD program! I am kicking myself for not investing in this sooner! Thank you Deb and Donna for the recommendation. :)
Well, I could go on and on but then again, I can't. I am going to check Jody's blog and see if she is still sitting at home with her overnight bag ;) LOL. Then I am going home to give Shay a bath and get her to bed (she is fighting a cold, poor thing)
Ever just... (Keyne!)
...Go shopping for 45 min or more and come out empty (or almost empty)-handed?
This week has really not been my week to shop. Let me elaborate...
Ty and I went to Super Walmart on Wednesday for a handful of items. Some cradle cap remedy for Shayla, formula, replacement bulbs for my apparently non-existent brake lights (eek), some miscellaneous groceries for the weekends happenings...etc...Baby aisle first (always!) - the cradle cap ointment (1 to “choose” from) was like $7 a bottle (4-5oz) OUCH! I am cheap! That sounds like way too much for such a small bottle, so I pass. Formula next – Yippee! It’s on sale!
Let’s see, brownies, the milk chocolate ones, yummy...ALL GONE! Empty shelf. So I move on to potatoes so as to TRY to replicate Ms. Laura’s yummy potato salad. NADA, as I approach the russets, I smell garbage! Anyone that has ever had potatoes go bad on them knows what I mean! *Sigh* Now I must go to the automotive Dept...on the complete OPPOSITE side of the store, remember, this is SUPER Walmart. I’m thinking "I’m going to go all the way over there and they will not have what I need." But... a girls got to have break lights ;P So we mosey on over, locate the lighting area, and ALAS! The machine that tells you what product# of light to buy for your specific vehicle is SMASHED! I can’t believe it! I’m quitting now while I am behind and cashing out! So we go all the way back to the register closest to where we parked (back to the other side of the store) “I’ll just put this all behind me and buy my formula and leave” I think to myself...
Would you believe that the formula rang up as the “regular” price, not the sale price.
That’s all I’m gonna say…pity party for me now OVER.
Ok – One more thing. I went looking for clothes for the kids yesterday. Tyler happens to be teetering (sp?) between boys and mens sizes. Shayla is teetering between infant and toddler. : ( Add this to the fact that there are scarcely any clothes available that I would let my kids leave the house with... Mini-skirts for a baby? T-shirts and Onesies with “attitude” sayings on them. And for the boy, some of the same (except the mini-skirts!) Just lots of attitude T-shirts, pants that are baggy, look dirty (the style) and are WAY over priced. Another fruitless shopping day *sigh*
K. Party's over...I mean it this time :)
It is sooo nice outside today! Feels like maybe 80 degrees. There is a light breeze and little to no humidity. Wish I was curled up on a hammock somewhere reading a book instead of here under the flourescents with the AC....
...Where do you wish you were right now?
