Today is 03/02, which is a good reflection for me since tomorrow I'll be 32. I don't make a big deal about my birthday and this year is no different. It's just another day for me.
I'm grateful for my family who does make a big deal about it. I'm glad to have family who loves me and cares for me and every so often gives me cards and gifts. I thank each and every one of you.

Today is a nice sunny day. I hope to go out for a bit with Crystal and the kids. Work is keeping me from that right now, but then again, that's a good thing. Work lately has been real busy and busy is good. The day goes by faster and knowing that there is work to do gives me a daily sense of job security.

I saw some Olympics these past couple of weeks. That is fun. I do have to say that the ice skater guy from Russia needs to get over himself. He did great, but sorry that you didn't get gold. Go quadruple loop over to starbucks and have a latte to wallow over your loss.

Lot of news recently. Earthquakes in Chile and Haiti, Tsunami in Hawaii, airplane crash in IRS building in Austin, lots of snow all over the US, Post Office thinking about not delivering mail on Saturday, US debt, lots of auto recalls, and so on. Lots going on in the US and world. It's nice to keep up with all of this, but I try not to get too involved. It can be sad and overwhelming. I'm still figuring out where the line is in keeping some sense of ignorance to all of this, but yet knowing enough to be aware of things going on that may or may not effect my family. Still working that out.

Anyways, that's about it for me. Work is calling, kids are singing, wife is sitting next to me on her computer, and life is good. God is good!

end of year ramblings

I don't have much to say (as usual).

The weather did cool down after a day or so and it has felt quite nice. A little more "winter" like. Not as wintery as some northern states, but for Houston, it's winter.

The kids are doing great! I love all of my children.

My wife is doing great! I love my wife!

I pray that everyone has a wonderful 2010. May God bless you and your families.

Blessings back at you, my wonderful son (for those of you who don't know, we leave off the in-law part ... it's of no account!). I told 'em, didn't I, son?? :)

The happenings

Crystal: She's healing quite nicely after the birth of Matthew. She is enjoying all of the cuddle time with Matthew and enjoys nursing him. He likes the milk too. :)

Emma: Is running all over the place and has so much energy. We're trying to keep her entertained as much as possible. She loves Matthew and always wants to be near him when he's around.

Haley: Today is Haley's birthday. She turns 2 today! She is growing up so fast, I can't believe that she's already 2 years old. She's also running all over the place and talking and singing so much. She is adjusting well to Matthew and now being a big sister. She will try to hold him by herself so we have to watch to make sure she doesn't try to take him out of his seat.

Matthew: He's doing well and growing. He eats, poops, and sleeps all day long, but then again, don't most newborns do that? He opens his eyes wider each day and is starting to focus on what he is hearing. He is also starting to learn to control his head, but still has some work to do on that one.

Me: I've been on vacation last week and this week and into next week. I have a couple of work from home days, but all in all, I'll have about 3 weeks to be with Crystal and the children before I officially go back to the office.. I am enjoying my time with them and all of the family that is visiting and that comes to visit. I am so very thankful for all of my family and all of the help that they have given.

That's about it for now. I hope you all continue to have a wonderful December!
