And it is almost the end of February! Yippee! That means the end of hunting season, which means that hopefully Ryan will be home more often. I haven't posted on here in quite a while. So I'll do a little update for those of you who aren't on facebook. :) In December we spent Christmas with my family in Georgia. We didn't see any snow, although since then it has snowed twice I think. But it was definately cold. Then in January Colton celebrated his 2nd birthday. Wow, my baby boy is getting bigger! He's such a charmer though, at least to Mommy. Then in February we took a road trip to Florida. Two days in the car with a 2 year old and a 4 year old went better than I thought it would. While in Florida we went to our 10 year reunion at FC. It was so good to see all of our friends and catch up. Unfortunately we didn't get to go to any of the lectures because Ryan was actually working while we were there. He was over in Poinciana most of the week doing RCW (Red Cockaded Woodpecker) Inserts at the Disney Wilderness Preserve. That was where he worked before we moved to Texas and they contracted him to come back to do the inserts. We also spent time with friends in Kissimmee which was a lot of fun. We went to Magic Kingdom one day. Kaylee dressed up as Alice in Wonderland and her BFF dressed up as Aurora. They were super cute! We made the drive back and everyone did suprisingly well (except when we all had to sleep in the hotel room together. The kids just aren't used to that and they had a hard time settling down for the night. Of course they had been in a truck most of the day...). We continue to live a blessed life and I am very thankful for all the Lord has blessed us with. Hope y'all are doing well too! :)

I decided that I would try to make a bow that I had seen on etsy.com. It was of a Thanksgiving themed bow with a turkey made out of ribbon on it. I thought it was super cute and so here's what I came up with...

A few weekends ago Kaylee got her very first haircut. It was much needed in that she fussed and whined almost every time that I had to brush or fix her hair because the brush would get caught on all the baby hair that knotted up. It was always an ordeal. So we finally convinced her to get her hair cut and Ryan thought it would be neat if she gave her hair to Locks of Love. It was definately long enough, but I wasn't sure I was ready to see all of that hair go! I knew she would really look like a "big girl" then. Well, the first time we tried to go get her hair cut she got scared. I think she thought that it wouldn't grow back after it was cut off. :) But after some reassurance (and fussing about knots) she decided she would like to get it cut. We went on a Saturday so that Daddy could be there and she did really well. She got to watch a movie while it was being cut and once it was all done, she posed and preened like you would not believe! The next day was Sunday and she showed EVERYBODY her new haircut. I didn't cry because I knew I wouldn't have to put up with as much drama as I was before. It is so much easier to take care of now although she's not able to put it in a ponytail now. Oh well! It'll grow back! And we did send off her hair to Locks of Love (and saved a little for us from her first haircut). Pics of her haircut experience are in the gallery.

Okay, so in my previous post I asked for help on getting my kids to get along. They are doing better now that Kaylee is in school three days a week, and I can't imagine what it will be like next year when she is gone five days a week! Yes, my little girl is going to be in Kindergarten next year! I can't believe it. I thought about homeschooling, but we're going to try public school this year and see how it goes. She's really excited about it. I LOVED school and I think that is how Kaylee will be too. Ryan and I would still like to get to AL eventually and have our kids go to ABS, but until then this will do. Or maybe just move to GA. We don't know but I don't expect that we'll be in TX forever.
I have been working on making hairbows. At first it was just for Kaylee, and then I really got into it. Now I'm going to see how they sell at a craft fair that I will be doing with some other Christian ladies in November. If anyone is in the area and interested, let me know and I will give you the info for coming. The other ladies will be selling baby bibs, jewelery, handmade stationary and cards, and glass-etched items. There may be more, but at this time I'm not sure.
Colton is getting so big! He is definately different from his sister. He loves to terrorize her, which is funny and frustrating at the same time. It reminds me so much of my brother and I, in reverse. Now I see how annoying I must have been! But Colton loves his big sissy, and wants to do whatever she is doing and have her attention, even negative attention. He is so different from Kaylee at that age. He gets into everything! And he loves to jump now. He will get on the steps and jump down (just one step up from the floor). He is very much a boy. And so mischeivious.
My mom just left yesterday after a week long visit. It was so nice to have the extra help and to be able to visit and shop. We went to the San Marcos outlet mall and got Kaylee's Tinkerbell outfit for Halloween. She already had the wings, so it just made sence. I had wanted to make it myself, but by the time you buy all the materials and spend the time on it, you might as well buy one. Colton is going to be a lion, and thankfully we found a costume at a garage sale. $2! Score! I also got some inspiration for our bedroom decor. I hope to get it painted soon, but I might have to wait until hunting season is over and Ryan is home more. I think that we will be here for at least another year, maybe more. Never know with us!
I hope to post pics of the kids soon, I'm waiting on Kaylee's school pictures which turned out really well! Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the fall weather!
Oh I just finished City of Glass and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for good reads. I'd much rather read then watch tv so HELP I need some suggestions.

Calling all Mommies! My kids are going to drive me insane with all the fussing when they play together! I don't know how to get them to play nicely with each other. Of course it probably doesn't help that they are on different planes developmentally. Kaylee wants to build things or play Mommy and Colton just wants to throw and knock everything down. And he gets into EVERYTHING! He is so different from Kaylee when she was that age. So, how do I get my kids to play nicely together? It's not a problem every day because Kaylee is going to MDO three days a week. And then of course next year she will be going to Kindergarten. But still, I don't want to have to deal with this fussing and complaining every day until 18 comes! Although, I do remember a lot of fussing and complaining between my brother and I for about that long. Hmmm...is it payback time for me? :)
