    I remember seeing that movie.
When I was a senior our class made a movie, too - and several people got 'killed' in the school building at night...even today when I go into the building at night (and sometimes I do - I clean 3 classrooms and sometimes can't get up there to do it until after dark) I still get creeped out. We've tried to find those movies but aren't sure where they might have gone, or who has them, etc. I'd like to see them again too.

The Scottsdale Unified School district requires a certain number of hours of classroom instruction for a class to be credible. Since she only went 3 days a week instead of 5, it fell short. I spoke with 2 high schools in the district before we moved. The other school wasn't going to accept her credits, but here, her counselor moved around a lot (military) and she was able to work it out for Caroline since she did go to accredited schools all along.

Hey, this is Lisa Reaves - Nancy showed me your message . We worship in the same building as the North Gwinnett Church on Swiftwater Dr (right off of Buford Hwy) in Suwanee. Our #'s 770-205-6618 and 678-939-9194. We're there 12pm on Sunday and 7:30 on Wed. Have her give us a call, we'd love to hear from her.

Yes, I do. Melanie and Isabella and Candy were here....and our friend from church...so it was a good day. Hugh's brother stayed at home while his wife and grandson went to Texas to be with her family.
We did have an enjoyable day...missed Hugh's Mom and especially Wendy.
Hope you had a wonderful day.

I'll have to remember that too. I didn't go on Saturday as Candy was still here and we had something else planned.

It's a series on personal work....Thurs. thru Sunday with Floyd Chapelier....not my favorite or the best on personal work but was requested by one of the members.
I have been sick with bronchitis so I didn't go last night and may not go tonight. It's so coooooooollllllldddd!
Be safe and don't get out unless you have to. What melts will just refreeze this evening.
    Later, love you!

Thank you for your kind comment! I'm lucky to have Scott - he's such a wonderful husband and daddy. I couldn't have asked for a better help mate. Maybe we'll make it to GA sometime this year and you and your family are always welcome here.

That's great. We would love to have a new sister to worship with us. And most of all I would love to see you.....
Let us know when you are coming. Has she definitely decided on UGA. Of course I would tell her that AU is a great place and has a wonderful congregation too....OK, so I am prejudice!
We are moving tomorrow and Saturday to a 2-bedroom apt.....but we will have a sofa bed and a guest bedroom for any visitors.
    Thanks for the "heads-up".

Apartment living is going to be quite an adjustment. But we will manage.
Hope all is well at your place.

yes, i have heard about the Disney thing...we were recently involved in the Extreme Makeover house here nearby and we went to volunteer one or 2 days and I was thinking -- Hey this could work! but unfortunately it's not on the "Disney list"...oh well, there are plenty of other "do-able" things on the list, just not sure if the finances are gonna allow me to do Disney this year! :(
Good for y'all! yes that will be a good family experience! thanks for thinking of me! :)

Well, we got moved and are adjusting to the apt. living instead of a house. So far, so good....it is different.
Had to get rid of a lot of "things" and a few pieces of furniture. Just sold the coffee table that was tooooooo big for the small living room, on Craigslist....I am beginning to like Craigslist. We sold our exercise bicycle on it too.
Hope all of you are well and doing good. Have a great weekend.
    Come to see us.

WE have the first class with everyone together at 9:00-9:30 a.m. .....then the regular classes at 9:30 to 10:15......worship is from 10:30 to 12:00 or there abouts.
It's not too far from the school......maybe 15 min. or so.....would love to see you.....If we aren't in Bham for Dave's funeral.....the doctors said today it won't be but a couple of days. His body is begin to shut down. He needs to go on so he can be free from the pain....Hugh says you can tell he is in a lot of pain....he groans a lot.....he has some big swollen places on his back...on his shoulder, one on his head....they are about the size of a tennis ball....it's the cancer all over his body now.....He has to be in terrible pain.....
Hopefully we will get to see you....if not this time....come again. I know what you mean about being nervous with the daughter driving.......I'm still that way with Melanie and she is 43 yrs. old.
    Take care and be safe.

BTW.....two of our ex-members are worshipping there at Embry Hills......Andrew Goins and Kimberly Wilson....be sure to speak to them....I know you probably already have.
Take care. Going to Bham for the funeral.

Sooooooooooooooo

How many people do you know with swine flu? I have learned of three in the past 24 hours. None at school yet but a teacher's daughter just found out she has it so the teacher left until next week. I really hope we don't get it and I feel so sorry for those who do have it.

I worry about it a little. Yesterday in my line at my register at school a little boy got sick (always a pleasant occurance in the lunchroom) and the teacher that took him to the clinic told me there were 5 kids there all sick at once. I never get the flu shot, so I don't know if I"ll get the H1N1 shot either. Just wash your hands A LOT, don't touch your hands to your face at all, and close your mouth and turn away if someone is coughing nearby.

What she says above^^^^. I am praying that Isabella doesn't bring it home from Kindergarten. Several schools in the Comer area are sending letters home often about swine flu. I hope you don't get it either!

I did hear that it's usually not as serious as it has been made out to be unless you already have breathing-related problems. We do all need to be careful and wash hands or use the little sanitizers whenever possible. I may start taking Lysol sheets to the grocery store to wipe the handles of the grocery carts!

Thanks. I'm not very good at roasts for some reason, I guess I just don't know how to pick a good cut of meat that will be tender.
Sorry I told you wrong about Alx work times on saturdays, I didn't realize he would be getting off at 6 every sat. from now on. Doug M. is working with them, and they are going to figure something out about the time, but it will be at 7 for a couple weeks in the meantime. Sorry about that.

There have been some kids at school who have had it. They are giving free shots at ABS next month for faculty/staff, students and families. Not too sure about whether we'll be getting it, though. I need to do more research on it.

Back to school

I cannot believe it's time to go back. I feel like they have been home about two weeks. Heather and Christina only go three days a week but we just aren't ready to go back. I am going to be a teacher's aide for first grade but they only go Tuesdays an d Thursdays. It takes 35 -40 minutes to get there so I may as well hang around. Heather would love to attend the public school which is four doors from our house. There are seven kids from Embry Hills who go there but I feel Heather does better in small classes. Christina loves just going three days. We are planning on having two bible classes during the week after school because it should be pretty easy for those kids to walk down the hill. I remember when we moved in ten years ago I wanted to do this when the girls got in high school. Now I hope it will work out. We had one last year but I'm hoping we can have a larger group this year.

I hope everyone has a great start to the new school year.

HAppy Sisters Day

It's that time of the year again. Heather and Christina gave each other their cards and gifts this morning. We are headed out for the day to movies, swimming at their grandmothers and eating out. Barry has classes this week so he won't be able to join us. I was trying to remember when we started this tradition. I only remember it was one year that Mark Roberts was here in a meeting. I was thinking ten but it may only be seven or eight. Anyway I'm hoping it is something they will hang onto long after I'm gone. Hope everyone has a great day. Tell a sister you love and appreciate them. I sure love and appreciate all of mine.

Today we talked to jeb and Sheila. The engine arrived Monday afternoon. I found it at an auto parts place in Tampa that is owned by a member of the church. It was trucked here and repackaged to export/custom standards. Now, 2 and a half weeks later, and thousands of dollars plus hotel and food expenses, we are hopeful that it will be installed by tomorrow morning and they can be on their way. School starts in Athens,Ala. where Jeb will be preaching for Westview on Mon. so the hope is that they can get there on time.Of course they are probably 22 hours or so from the border and then it is on to Alabama. Hopefully the engine will be installed correctly and will run and there will be no problems. Thanks for the interest....and the prayers. They need it. They are so ready to come home.

What a sweet idea! Jeb and Sheila are in Athens in their home they bought near where Corinth use to be. I know they are exhausted. That is alot of driving and they drove 24 hours straight till they were at the border and then on to Athens. Know the kids are glad to be out of that truck!! And then it is on to school Monday!

  • ncreaves
Will is a 6th grader and Sarah is a 4th grader and Molly is in Kindergarden. Do they go to Westview? I think Jeb and Sheila were going to use today to visit other congregations who sent them money to help with their expenses with the truck and the hotel since someone else was going to preach at Westview because Jeb got in so late. He'll be there either tonight or Wed. night. I ts hard for me to get away, but I'm si ready to see them.

Bits and pieces

Things have been so quiet around here. The girls are at camp and although Barry works out of the house he has stayed busy in the basement. I have been going through cleaning out the girls things. Their dresser drawers but after I pulled out things like drawings, books and other things that had been stuffed in a hurry, there is much more room. I usually cook a huge meal the day they come home but we are staying in the area because Barry is preaching nearby on Sunday morning.

I took my Mom to the Braves game this week and we had so much fun. She is a big Braves fan but they were playing the Cubs(my team) She hadn't been in a long time but I plan to take her again soon.

In all the fun summer brings there is always the tug in the back of my mind of those around us who are dealing with heartache. I guess that is one of the wonderful things about pleonast. We can pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ who we will not meet until we get to heaven. To me this is the greatest part of pleonast.
  • theaunt
I've been wanting to check out the Gwinnett Braves. That might be neat.

Didn't know your Mom was such a Braves Fan. Hugh's Mom was a big fan also. Summer is fun...we have Isabella all day everyday except the weekends. That's quite challenging in itself. And tiring for "ole" people, but we are having so much fun! She reminds us a lot of Wendy. Take care and be safe. Hugs!

Rosie, I think we must be joined at the heart :) Not only does family situation comedy fit into Satan's toolbox, but ever since fantasy became so popular, I've seen child after child unable to cope with it being fantasy. Teens have such a need to have a world highly structured, filled will hope -- and we parents are not providing this for them. . .
