How many people do you know with swine flu? I have learned of three in the past 24 hours. None at school yet but a teacher's daughter just found out she has it so the teacher left until next week. I really hope we don't get it and I feel so sorry for those who do have it.

I cannot believe it's time to go back. I feel like they have been home about two weeks. Heather and Christina only go three days a week but we just aren't ready to go back. I am going to be a teacher's aide for first grade but they only go Tuesdays an d Thursdays. It takes 35 -40 minutes to get there so I may as well hang around. Heather would love to attend the public school which is four doors from our house. There are seven kids from Embry Hills who go there but I feel Heather does better in small classes. Christina loves just going three days. We are planning on having two bible classes during the week after school because it should be pretty easy for those kids to walk down the hill. I remember when we moved in ten years ago I wanted to do this when the girls got in high school. Now I hope it will work out. We had one last year but I'm hoping we can have a larger group this year.
I hope everyone has a great start to the new school year.

It's that time of the year again. Heather and Christina gave each other their cards and gifts this morning. We are headed out for the day to movies, swimming at their grandmothers and eating out. Barry has classes this week so he won't be able to join us. I was trying to remember when we started this tradition. I only remember it was one year that Mark Roberts was here in a meeting. I was thinking ten but it may only be seven or eight. Anyway I'm hoping it is something they will hang onto long after I'm gone. Hope everyone has a great day. Tell a sister you love and appreciate them. I sure love and appreciate all of mine.

Things have been so quiet around here. The girls are at camp and although Barry works out of the house he has stayed busy in the basement. I have been going through cleaning out the girls things. Their dresser drawers but after I pulled out things like drawings, books and other things that had been stuffed in a hurry, there is much more room. I usually cook a huge meal the day they come home but we are staying in the area because Barry is preaching nearby on Sunday morning.
I took my Mom to the Braves game this week and we had so much fun. She is a big Braves fan but they were playing the Cubs(my team) She hadn't been in a long time but I plan to take her again soon.
In all the fun summer brings there is always the tug in the back of my mind of those around us who are dealing with heartache. I guess that is one of the wonderful things about pleonast. We can pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ who we will not meet until we get to heaven. To me this is the greatest part of pleonast.
When I was a senior our class made a movie, too - and several people got 'killed' in the school building at night...even today when I go into the building at night (and sometimes I do - I clean 3 classrooms and sometimes can't get up there to do it until after dark) I still get creeped out. We've tried to find those movies but aren't sure where they might have gone, or who has them, etc. I'd like to see them again too.
We did have an enjoyable day...missed Hugh's Mom and especially Wendy.
Hope you had a wonderful day.
I have been sick with bronchitis so I didn't go last night and may not go tonight. It's so coooooooollllllldddd!
Be safe and don't get out unless you have to. What melts will just refreeze this evening.
Later, love you!
Time for an update?
Yeah, when you gonna post a new update, girlfriend?
Let us know when you are coming. Has she definitely decided on UGA. Of course I would tell her that AU is a great place and has a wonderful congregation too....OK, so I am prejudice!
We are moving tomorrow and Saturday to a 2-bedroom apt.....but we will have a sofa bed and a guest bedroom for any visitors.
Thanks for the "heads-up".
Apartment living is going to be quite an adjustment. But we will manage.
Hope all is well at your place.
Good for y'all! yes that will be a good family experience! thanks for thinking of me! :)
Had to get rid of a lot of "things" and a few pieces of furniture. Just sold the coffee table that was tooooooo big for the small living room, on Craigslist....I am beginning to like Craigslist. We sold our exercise bicycle on it too.
Hope all of you are well and doing good. Have a great weekend.
Come to see us.
It's not too far from the school......maybe 15 min. or so.....would love to see you.....If we aren't in Bham for Dave's funeral.....the doctors said today it won't be but a couple of days. His body is begin to shut down. He needs to go on so he can be free from the pain....Hugh says you can tell he is in a lot of pain....he groans a lot.....he has some big swollen places on his back...on his shoulder, one on his head....they are about the size of a tennis ball....it's the cancer all over his body now.....He has to be in terrible pain.....
Hopefully we will get to see you....if not this time....come again. I know what you mean about being nervous with the daughter driving.......I'm still that way with Melanie and she is 43 yrs. old.
Take care and be safe.
BTW.....two of our ex-members are worshipping there at Embry Hills......Andrew Goins and Kimberly Wilson....be sure to speak to them....I know you probably already have.
Take care. Going to Bham for the funeral.
