Scary time indeed! I remember a similar time (but different sickness), so I can totally relate! I like the way you wrote it out for your blog!

So what's been going on?

Wow, um, can't believe I haven't posted in two months!! Life with three kids is BUSY!

I guess I'll post an update about everyone... oldest first...

LJ-on Independence Day, my mom dropped a glass bottle in the parking lot. We're not sure exactly how, but a large piece landed in/on his pinky toe and nearly cut to the bone! Since he has a very laborious job, he couldn't work that entire week. He was on crutches. However, an injury was just what we needed to get our foot in the door at our new family doctor's office. They were great! It's one of those facilities that has doctor, lab and xray all in one facility. They're also very willing to listen to what the patient requests. They wanetd to give LJ a tetanus shot for the cut, but we explained why we didn't want/need it and they were ok with it. LJ will be 30 next month. My old man! :D I love that we're growing old together. Some quicker than others. I love pointing out his grey hairs, which he in turn points out that he never had any grey hairs before we were married.

Me-I haven't had any more issues with my heart. They're doing a follow-up echocardiogram soon, just to rule out postpartum cardio myopathy. I have had some aches and pains lately, but as soon as I get the clear from my doctor (had a procedure a week ago), I will start up on my yoga again. Over the past few weeks, I started having some severe abdominal issues (cramps, nausea, a bunch of unpleasantness) so I went to said new family doctor. I didn't care much for the specific doctor (I'll mention why later), but he was generally pretty nice. He insisted I had GERD, and wanted me to take Prilosec (safest for nursing momma). I knew what GERD feels like, and knew I didn't have it. So, I requested a RAST test (a blood draw to check for food allergies for those who don't know). He called me in person two weeks later with my results. I have a class 1 allergy to peanuts, walnuts (knew about), milk, corn (those two have proved to be false positives), and a class 2 allergy to wheat. Doc said eliminating my allergies wouldn't help my stomach, because food allergies don't cause stomach problems. I ignored his ignorance (he's a family medicine intern--not much experience in allergies), cut out wheat and WOW! 100% better! At my follow up with another resident, she said I probably have celiac disease. So, no wheat, no gluten. Can you feel my excitement through the computer????? (/sarcasm) However, whatever it takes to get me feeling normal I am OK with!

Arianna-Arianna turned 4 in July. We had a small family birthday party for her. She got the movie Tangled, and FINALLY got her play kitchen I've wanted to get her since she was 2! On August 1, we started some homeschooling. Very light, nothing too intense. She's learning so much! We typically get it done during the 30 minutes Jonas is eating breakfast and Josiah is still sleeping. She really enjoys learning.

Jonas-My biggest little man has been pretty intense lately. He's 2.5 and not very verbal. At Arianna's 4 year/Josiah's 2 month appointment, the pediatrician noticed his lack of speech, and suggested we take him to be evaluated. First things first is a hearing test. He wouldn't sit still (um, yeah, he's 2.5...) for the regular ear test, so next month they're going to have to sedate him for an audio brain response test. Prayers appreciated. Life would be a whole lot easier if he started talking more! Other than that, he's all boy all the time. Very active, very physical, very cute and sweet! He loves his momma!

Josiah-The most change has been with my littlest man. He's a good sleeper at night like his brother, but more of a cuddler like his sister. We call him our wild card. At his 2 month appointment, he was 12 lbs. He's laughing, cooing, drooling, and I think he's going to be our thumb sucker! He is constantly sucking on his fingers, thumbs, etc. He's so sweet and lovable, and loved! I love watching all three of my babies interact.

LJ and I will be celebrating our seven year anniversary next month. Time flies.

I'm going to try to be more active in updating my blog. I miss pleo! :)

And, copying Kym, here's some of my new fav flair!

Lots of excitement!! Glad you are all doing well for now! ;) You can go online and search for gluten free flour, so you can still make up recipes and rice chef is gluten free as well. LOTS of people are having issues with this lately, over in Europe they started testing this just like a pregnancy test ages ago and we're finally catching up now since a synthetic "super gluten" has been introduced into the US recently. Sorry honey, but at least now you'll feel loads better since you'll actually be able to use your foods now. ;)

    I love your flair!!! :D

Have you seen the gluten-free-goddess blog? I use a ton of her recipes since they are usually low-carb and we try to avoid gluten most of the time (I still think I'm sensitive to high amounts of it). But yeah, her recipes are amazing!!! Just google Gluten-Free Goddess. She also has a FB page! :D

I hope I never find myself with one of those allergies. That sounds like a lot of work. :(

Pretty much everyone in my family has celiac disease. If you have questions about any of it, let me know. Sorry you're having to deal with that!

BTW, can't remember if I mentioned this to you or to someone else, but there's a very simple blood test to tell you if you're an "expressed" celiac or not. There's another (more expensive) blood test that will tell you if you have the gene for it even if you're not currently producing the antibody (IgA).
