Inventory

It may just be me but it seem to take a long time to get everything that I got for Christmas to be cataloged in my brain’s inventory.
If this is just me please tell me.

I found that I very much dislike child labor laws. For the fire department I can only run from 7AM – 7 PM, but the most annoying thing is that kids in the high school are able to stay out until midnight doing something like football.

For x-mass I finally got a belt clip and earpiece for my HAM radio!!!
So far they work very well.

    You poor child. If it's any consolation, I'm pretty sure both of your parents could find some labor for you either before 7 AM or after 7 PM. I'll ask... ;)

new floor!!

We are getting a new floor in the kichen!!! so far we have a little less then half the floor done. and 8 more boxs of flooring to lay.
Another plus to the day it that it's snowing!! so far not very much but it's still snowing.
The sister is getting in early tomorrow morning which means that for most of the day she will be sleeping. but after that we get to do... something. Don't know what, where, or when. But we will do something.

ICS

Glad I took the ICS 100.a and 200.b. They are both classes about emergency operations and the command structure. Not the most interesting classes but i was able to keep up with the people in the table-top exercise that I and my parents attended this evening. They (all the emergency people) were talking about how they would respond if the dam in either of the two major lakes around this area were to break. in case anyone doesn't know i always concered about them... NOT. It was fun seeing everything happening but still it was rather borning. Best thing of all was they gave us free supper! yay for subway.

sleeping...on a fire truck?

Today i found that if i want to i can sleep on top of a fire truck. today we had a warehouse fire, a three alarm, and after running around setting up a fill sight i was pretty beat, so i found that if a sat right behind the masterstream and laid back it wasn't to bad. The only thing was every time i was about to fall asleep we had food delivered.
I also found that using the masterstream is the most fun thing to do on a fire call.
the fire is still not out. (i'm at home) and the fire could still burn untill 3AM tomorrow. dad is still on the call since he was driving a truck that wasn't releast.
so i'm heading to bed as so as a get some stuff done.

    Ahhhh... They had you set up draft. Your dad mentioned that the fire was only about 1/2 mile from where you were... So, were you pumping to another engine that was supplying the fire? Or were you filling tankers?

    Anyway, I'm jealous(sortof). We haven't had a *actual* fire in a while....

    yeah, we actually had 3 calls yesterday...possible electric fire at a dollar store...then a chimmny fire while we were at church...then a standby for another station that was already back in service. BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P

    ^^Haha funny that i shoud say that....today we had a structure fire!!!!!!!! We were able to get there fast enough(and with another department), put the fire out incredibly early. The only damage to the house was in the laundry room...caused by a faulty extention cord under a pile of clothes.

    Later we had a MVA....

HAM meeting

Dad and I just got back from our HAM radio dinner meeting. We talked about all the stuff that they wanted to do and the things they need money to do.
Not much is happening right now other then school and getting ready for the holidays.
