Try planning one for a 75 year old man! haaaaa
We are having a BIG BASH for my dad's 75th birthday this weekend and boy does he have ideas! New ones piling in every day. I guess he doesn't think we can handle it! If you haven't received an invitation -- sorry!! but you can be sure, you are invited! I think we've tried to invite everyone he knows. If you didn't get one, we probably just couldn't find your address or email address - ha! But feel free to stop by the Houston Raceway Park Tower Club in Baytown, this Saturday at 11:00am. We're gonna treat it like an old fashion "roast", with speakers like RJ Stevens, Dee Bowman, Bubba Garner, Tony Mauck, Kris Emerson, Todd Dennis, Don Freiling and anyone else who has something to add. We've got a great slide show lined up and some great food. He is SO excited about it, it's almost like a little kid thinking about an upcoming party.
Oh -- and the morning of the party, me and the boys are doing an MS WALK in Kemah! Now all I need to do is plan something for the evening so we'll have a full day! LOL
Wish us luck! All this planning is making me dizzy!

I think some people just wouldn't be happy if they didn't have something to complain about, don't you?

Well, the best part of the weekend was having my friends come spend the night on Friday night and just hanging out and laughing! Rachele Usrey and Lilith Reno came in the afternoon and then we went and ate Mexican food at a local place in town and Daniel Watkins met us. It was a lot of laughs and thankfully my whole family was there to enjoy it. They played ping pong and made up games with the ping pong balls and paddles and we took silly photos and played with Hannah (our dog) and just had a ball. They helped me prepare for the camp meeting that was coming up on Saturday and that was nice. We ended up having around 40 people including a surprise appearance by Buddy Payne! I think that's the most food I've ever cooked at once! But it turned out beautifully and I have a pan of cream cheese chicken enchiladas left over for dinner tonite! :)
After the big Saturday event ended, my dad asked me if I wanted to go eat dinner with them and of course I did, so when I got over to his house I found out that I was the designated driver and they wanted to go to Galveston! So me and Jordan and mom and dad and Leslie and Beth Jones (from Arkansas) loaded up and headed south! It was quite windy on the beach, but there was a full moon and it was beautiful. Unfortunately it was dark when we got there, so we couldn't really take pictures, but it was still really cool to see. Since there was over an hour wait at Gaido's, we walked across the street to the beach and stuck our feet in the water, which was a perfect temperature and watched the big waves rolling in. It was pretty nice. Next time we'll have to get an earlier start I guess. If you're wondering where Steve was, he had spent the day at Wings over Houston and was not back yet...but he had a great time too! (and Dustin was hanging out with his baseball buddies after playing 2 games in Galveston earlier that day). Anyway, needless to say, we didn't get home til almost 11:00!
Anyway, that was my Saturday and it was a lot of fun. Hope your weekend was great too!

Did I tell you that Dustin was nominated to the Homecoming court at his school? kind of a stressful week with all the "things" that go along with Homecoming, but I was proud of him. And now it's over! He's got one more weekend of fall baseball left and of course, this is the most fun one -- it's in Galveston! and wouldn't you know it...the Dry Creek Camp meeting is at my house ALL DAY, so I won't even get to go :( Oh well, who knows, maybe the game times will change or maybe I can go on Sunday. We'll see.
Jordan has been going to basketball practice every day, so I THINK he is going to play basketball this year. He gave it a try last year, but wasn't wholly committed and had some "grade" issues...let's hope this year is better! He's a freshman now.
Other than the beautiful October weather we've been having, not much more to report.
Looking forward to it.
