A lot's been going on recently...
I got my learners Permit last week. I told someone and he said, "The state of Tennessee has failed us!" ... *Snorts* It's so true. It seems to scare my mom though.....
I'm 8 months from getting my first degree black belt in taekwondo... So... a red belt for those of you that don't know how close that is.
So that's about it...

Man, so much has been going on recently
Let me explain.
About a week ago I ranked up in Tae kwon do to a green belt. Yeah! this means I am half way to becoming a black belt.
I also ranked up to second class in boy scouts. I also earned 4 merit badges including canoeing. (That doesn't feel like the correct spelling. Oh well)
Yesterday, we were driving home from church, when, clunck, the car lurches and we lose just about everything. power steering, a/c, and others stuff. Our belt broke and ,thankfully, we were only a few miles from home. I was a cheap fix to. That's a relief.
All in all, I've been busy.
Quote of the day.
"We can expect great things from you."

This is the speech I'm doing for lads to leaders this year. Hope you enjoy it.
Love - Divine Affection
Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and showers righteousness on you.
Notice the verb Hosea uses in, Hosea 10:12, to describe God’s generosity. He showers righteousness on us. The Hebrew means “to flow like water.” God doesn’t trickle blessings here and there. He doesn’t save gift giving for special occasions. He pours his grace and love constantly on his people. He abounds in love.
To abound means “to present in large quantity.” When something abounds, it spills out all over; it’s everywhere we look. So when the bible describes God as “abounding in love,” it means there’s never a shortage of his divine affection. His care for us will never run out. His love won’t have to be measured or rationed. Like a mountain spring it just keeps flowing down into our lives. Our task is to climb the path of that spring, let his love fill us, and then let it spill over onto the lives of others.
Now being selected for a special honor or picked for a coveted role or even singled out for a big promotion… there just aren’t many experiences in this world that compare to being chosen. And surely nothing rivals the reality that we were chosen by God before the world began!
Ephesians 1:4-6 “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to son ship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.”
“Why would God set his affection on rebels like us?” (Romans 5:8) Why would he decide to make us, save us, and bless us? This says more about God’s worth than our own. “Imitate God today,” (Ephesians 5:1). Choose to love someone -for no reason at all- except to reflect God’s boundless grace.
God is never inconsistent in how he relates to his people. He loves us with a rock-solid devotion. His is a loyal love.
2 Timothy 2:13 “…if we are faithless, he remains faithful…,”
What a great example for us in our dealings with peculiar, quirky, and ungrateful people. What a great reminder that love is a commitment, as well as, a feeling! Determine to let God’s unfailing love flow from him, through us, and into the lives of others, so that you can give difficult people what they need most.
God’s relentless, never-ending love for his people is enough to make us wince. Why he is so devoted, so persistent, so loyal… when we are so sinful and unfaithful? The shocking truth of his everlasting love first changes us, and then challenges us, to do likewise. If you want to be like your father in heaven, then ask God for strength and perseverance to love like he loves.
God doesn’t want to merely hear how much you love him or how devoted you are to following his commands and his will for your life. You could shower God with heartfelt prayers of love every day of your life, but that still wouldn’t be enough to show your love and devotion. You can show your love for God through your heartfelt, obedient actions. He wants to see your love in your actions!
John 14:21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me.
Why!?! Why does he love us when we sin over and over and over, again and again and again!?!?!?! Why, because God’s grace comes to us according to his will. But these passages encourage us to understand that righteous living also reaps blessing.
You can’t love God then just go and do your own thing. Loving God means putting aside your own sinful desires in order to make room for his will. And his will is that you love him, not the world! That’s what he wants from us! Pray to God that his deepest desires become your own deepest desires, and that you will learn to truly love the lord.
People parrot the phrase “God is love,” in a superficial way. Divine affection isn’t some sappy, sentimental rubbish. It risks. It suffers. In fact, it is always marked by wrenching sacrifice. The Bible goes to great pains to urge those who have experienced God’s lavish love to turn around and become courageous lovers themselves. We have all experienced God’s lavish love. Through Jesus Christ who hung on a cross for YOU!
Do you show kindness and compassion to the undeserving? To cheats and liars? To backstabbers and betrayers? To rude and hateful and cruel people? As an imperfect person you don’t have such love in yourself. What you do have is Jesus Christ living in you and impacting your actions and attitudes. And that is enough.
I think you'll be a great driver. *wink* I'm always nervous when my kids start driving, but I think that is mostly because I'm responsible to teach them and because it freaks me out not to be in control of the vehicle. :P
I'm a second degree black belt in taekwondo. If I had stuck with it, and if the school hadn't closed a little while after we stopped, I probably could have been fourth degree. If I'm recalling correctly, though, it sounds like you school might have a different policy on who long to wait, since our school I think had been 6 months (4 as red, then 2 as recommended black.). Doesn't surprise me though. We had a kind of unusual school.
Come to think of it, maybe you have a different belt order than we did? I think the first school we went to had a different order than the one we got to black at.
