New post coming soon.

This is only a tribute, or a soupçon of a post, to whet your appetite; a bloggers' amuse-bouche.

Its real purpose is to announce that I have finally caught up with all your doings (those you've posted on pleo, anyway) since 13/07/06, and I'm exhausted! I've been working very hard since I started my new job on 01/08/06 (too tired to write out dates in full).

There are one or two other things happening in my life (ok one, but it's quite a big one) other than adjusting to the new workplace & culture etc but I'm saving that for my true "return to Pleo" post (yes, it may be a couple of thousand words, why do you ask? ;)....

I'm glad to have read that you all seem to be keeping fairly well and to have had mostly good summers. I need to get my butt off my work chair (some things haven't changed, but I can't stay to midnight like I used to do; the office shuts at 7:30) and go drive 60 miles home. How do I know God has a sense of humour? Just one little hint is how I used to b|tch & moan about having to take *TWO* buses to work occasionally, to cover a mere 3 or 4 mile distance (I walked it; once; very late at night; from work to home it was uphill; bleah)....

Well, until the next time, which Lord willing will be sooner than 55 days, please take care of yourselves :)

We Americans, of course, have to transpose the dates to understand them. :-) Frankly, it would make the most sense to put the year first. Much easier to machine sort that way.

Hi Mr Paul, Cherish and Jaki, thanks for your comments :)

Yup, I save all my computer files as 2006 09 29 - and then a suitable name, it does make more sense and machines have a way easier time handling them.

Enjoy Northern Ireland, it's 14 years since my once & only trip there, I hope you get to visit the Mountains of Mourne and the Giant's Causeway *sigh*. Now I saw that you were using a departmental iBook, so are you still using the loaner or do you have a permanent replacement? Leprechauns running the world explains a lot.... ;)

New post still gestating (you have no idea how long it took me to remember that particular verb until I gave in and Googled the association I had with it: The Doll's House, The Sandman).... ;)

Hi Ann, thanks for your comment. I'm currently staying with my parents in Suffolk, about 70 miles north east of London. It took my mum & I about five hours (minus stoppage time) to drive to Newcastle on Monday. We're a long way from Aberdeen.
