Never a dull moment

I haven't posted in a while so here goes.................We are having a gospel meeting this week with Chuck Bartlett. We had him and his wife over for dinner tonight along with some other very nice members. He is really good at being sarcastic and loves to laugh. Margaret and I are so impressed with his zeal to spread the good news. He made a joke in his sermon tonight about not "hunting down" some people when he moves to Indiana to teach the word, but I truly think that he is a hunter. I'm more of a person that will be glad to talk about spirtual things when confronted or asked about it, but I'm not as zealous to initiate it. If nothing else comes from this week's meeting, then at least Mr. Bartlett has lit a fire under me........or at least maybe a spark. :)

Where have you been? It's good to see you on here again. Frederic and I go through high times and low times in the world of pleo. It's hard to be on here and get stuff done so we aren't always the best at keeping up and other times we are on here alot. Glad to know that someone has influenced you to be a better soldier for Christ. That's always a good thing!

9 years!!! :):):)

Today is our anniversary! I'm so excited that I remembered. I know that 9 years is nothing compared to some, but these days it's a definite accomplishment. Margaret's grandmother (101 years old) was married for 73 years! Seems so far away.
In our 9 years of marriage we have moved 6 times!! With the purchase of our most recent house, I do believe we are staying for a while. We love it so much and the kids do too.
Another accomplishment is our 3 looney, er uh, wonderful children. They really are good kids, just FULL of energy. I hope they never lose their sense of humors, either. Our house is constantly filled with laughter. Greyson is the main comedian, but we all do our share to keep the laughter rolling. I hope it continues even through the teenage years.
I'll stop rambling now. Even I'm a bit confused reading this.
  • cdillman23
Happy anniversary!! Nine years seems like a long time when you think of everything you have been through but when you will look back in 25 years, it won't seem that long...

Aren't you the funny one! And what articles are you talking about anyway?

Y'all enjoying the cold weather? I wish we were up that way. It's cool here, but nothing like it's been for y'all the past few days.

Oh yeah...y'all get Focus? That article comes out this month sometime.

You know, you can take out the gas part of the fireplace and make it a wood-burning fireplace. Those are much better anyway! And cheaper, the way gas prices are.

"Generic"

Sorry, I couldn't think of a cool title. :) Just to let all know that my new job is going very well, so far. I can't tell you how much more relaxed I am these days. I never dreamed that a sales job would be relaxing, but I think it is just a little less stressful compared to my previous position and responsibilities.

Margaret and the kids are doing very well. The still like school and Hannah is officially 5 months old today! Time is flying!

The Tampa people still love Dungy...he always gets a warm reception when he gets back there. I read where Corey Dillon's agent has been contacted by the Bucs. We'll see if they can do it with Graham and Pittman platooning.

Doing something right, I guess.

I took Harrison to his school (1st grade) and Greyson to his preschool today. I dropped Harrison off and Greyson and I had about a 15 min ride to his school. On the way he told me that he "wanted to pray to God". Of course I said, "Go ahead". He bowed his head and said a prayer to himself. He then asked me to say a prayer. I asked if I should say one to myself or if he preferred me to say it where he could hear it. He said that he wanted to hear it. So, of course, I did. When I finished, he said, "thank you" and then just acted perfectly normal. I don't know why this is such a big deal to me, but I thought it so wonderful that he felt the need to pray and it didn't matter the situation or location. It needed to be done, in his opinion, so he did it. I'm so proud! :)
  • mreid72
They just haven't learned yet that the ONLY proper time to pray is before meals, before bedtime, and while at church services. Come on Mike, train your kids better than that!

And these words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up, (And as you ride in the car on your way to school). And you shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. :)

That's such a great story! Last night Matthew was saying his prayer at dinner and in the middle of it I was kind of taken off guard because he said, "and God, can you please just heal all those sick people?" I thought that was cute too! Kids are so uninhibited with their prayers!

New Job

Since several have asked (at least 2 of you) I thought I better do an update on my job. I love it, so far. I'm simply an outside sales rep for home medical equipment. I go to various doctor's offices and hospitals and try to get business. The company is on a campaign to win back some business that we have lost of the last few years so I am doing lots of lunches and inservices for the various offices. Pretty cool! Very laid back and a much easier schedule and very little stress! Obviously it is taking up much of my time, otherwise I would post more often on here. I'll do my best to keep y'all up to date. Thanks for your prayers and thoughts during my transition!
