Safely In Chicago

Well, we have arrived in Chicago! The train was about 90 minutes late in Walnut Ridge, which means it arrived at 3:10AM. The trip was fun. It really didn't feel like a 12 hour ride.

We had our first interesting experience upon leaving Union Station. Some random guy asked us if we needed a cab, so we start following him, thinking he was a cabbie. No sooner than we get out on the street, two lady cops in an unmarked car motion for him to come over. He walks over saying, "I ain't doin' nuttin!" We just walked on and found our own taxi. Our driver says that these guys try to hustle people and the cops are really cracking down on them.

We're looking forward to a good week. This is one of my favorite things about homeschooling. Can you imagine all the stuff our kids are going to learn this week?!

Please remember my mom in your prayers. She found out last week that she has breast cancer. Lehia has more info on her blog. For those who haven't made the connection, Lehia is my baby sister.
