Surviving the Storm
You may have heard that Arkansas got walloped by an ice storm. Here in Jonesboro we got about an inch of ice. EVERY tree in town has some damage, many are totally stripped. We lost power at 11:00PM on Tuesday. It was restored around 4:00 today (Thursday).
We spent last night with friends who had a gas fireplace, but were also without power. They still have no power so they came and spent some time with us tonight.
It was funny to hear Faith use her mock southern accent to say, "Look at all the Dev-o-station!"
Many have it much worse than us. Please remember them in your prayers. Also, pray for the crews who are working almost non-stop trying to restore power.

Glad you all are safe and have your power back! We're still hanging out at the Barker's. Mom and dad are going with Marshall and I to TN tomorrow. Maybe we'll get home to a house with power! -
I think it's fun to go without power for short periods of time, particularly if it's due to snow/ice. It throws us together and we spend great time together. Everything else that usually demands our attention automatically gets put on hold. I have always enjoyed those "breaks"... -
I think it's much worse to have an ice storm than 12 inches of snow, like we do here! I enjoyed two days of being snowed in though! -
Glad you got your power back!! How did the trip to Memphis go Tuesday...well I hope. I am sure you are all much better now that you can see!! -
My dad over in Tuckerman still has no power. They are talking like it won't be until next week for power to be restored there. It is really bad around where he is at. It is amazing how much difference there is in just 30 miles.
