Yes, it really is a post!!!!

Hello everyone!!! I know, it has been a very long time. However, it is not because I didn't want to write or because I haven't been on pleonast, for some reason I just found it very difficult to change the entry, it was/is very emotional for me. But, the time has come and I am now ready to move on, so thank you for your patience.

I want to begin by saying that our God is an awesome God, to Him be the glory forever and ever, amen!

Secondly, married life is amazing, it is such a blessing and we are having a blast! We have been married for 7 wonderful months and we thank God for everyday that we wake-up beside each other. To give one word of advice, never take a single day for granted, it just might be your last.

Jimmy and I are still in fl. and he is working full-time with a wonderful congregation. When I'm not at the dr. office or hosp., I spend my time as a homemaker and a volunteer at the hosp. working with other cancer patients. I cannot express how rewarding, fulfiling, and healing it is to help others who are facing some of the same things that I faced. I thank God for allowing me to be able to share my experience and give hope to those who other wise might be hopeless. Life is wonderful!

As far as my health goes, I have good days and not so good days. I am still on oral chemo in which I have 1 year and 5 months left. Counting down!!!:) For two weeks out of the month, I get very sick due to the medication that I take. It makes me extreemly tired, nausues, weak, swollen, and it affects my emotions as well. However, even at my sickest, I thank God because I know that it could be a lot worse (it is a very humbeling realization which leaves little room for complaining). After giving you the down side of my health, let me say that it isn't all bad, for the most part I am able to go about a normal (relative of course), fulfiling, and wonderful life in which I couldn't be more thankful.

I would also like to express how much Jimmy and I appreciate you and all of your continued support. We are so grateful for all your prayers, love, and concern through the many difficult days that we have faced and continue to face.

With love,

Tabitha

one year ago!!!!

hello everyone!!!! i must say that this is one of the most special and emotional entries that i have posted. i have now celebrated my one year anniversary of being dx. with leukemia. in remembering the past year, i can honestly say that is has been the most difficult, trying, memorable, special, and fulfilling year than all my years put together. God has blessed me beyond measure and i can't help but thank Him for each beautiful day that i get to enjoy and praise Him.

i can never thank you enough for all the support, love, care, prayer, and help that you have provided to my and my family over the last year. you and your encouragement has helped me through many difficult days. thank you.

with all of this on my mind, i would like to share with you a little poem that i wrote:

You all were there!

One year ago today we were not expecting what we heard
As we gathered round in the E.R. we heard that dreadful word!
--CANCER--
It rang through our heads, our hearts, and brought us to our knees
and we found ourselves begging, please God please!

Is it really true, is it really real?
God, help us to know how to feel and make this body heal!
We thought to ourselves, how can a 22 year-old die
And as the tears fell, we asked the question why.

You all surrounded me, comforted me, and helped me see that all would be fine
You reminded me, that everything is in God’s precious time.
I started those dreadful treatments but no I was not alone
My brothers and sisters visited and called on the phone.

You all were there to brighten up the darkest days
And you showed your love and care in the greatest of ways
You all were there when the hair was no more
You worked and worked and I had hats galore!!!
You all were there and saw through the masks and gloves
And you never failed to show how Jesus cares and loves!
You all were there as the treatments came and past
And you rejoiced with me when I finally had my last!

I love you all dearly and I thank you with all my heart
for your care and love from the very start!
This is what God’s family is all about
To be there to support, encourage, and help each other out!

love,
Tabitha

So I'm pretty terrible for not having called you back, but I don't think you want me to call at 2 in the morning, and that's usually when I'm done with schoolwork and free to call on the phone. I haven't forgotten y'all. I'm so glad you're getting through your cancer! You're an amazing woman! Tell everyone hello for me.

MRI

Hi everyone,
This is Tabitha. I would like you all to know that the MRI came back fine. I have a disk that is a bit out of place, but the doctor thinks that the pain is primarily due to the medication that i am on. I am doing fair; I have good and not so good days. The chemo. still makes me sick a few days out of the week, but I have no room to complain!!!!!!:):):) Thank you all so much for all your support and care.

love,
Tabitha

09/20/05 9:44PM

Hey guys,
I hope you are all doing well. Tab and I are doing well. Tab's biopsy came out clear and the doctor said that all looks good as far as he could tell. We continue to thank God for that as well as all of you. Tab is to have a MRI done one Thursday on her lower back. She's been experiencing some pain there lately and the dr. wants to make sure there is nothing. Marriage life is wonderful and we stay busy as we labor with the brethren at Zephyrhills. Take care and God bless

Successful surgery

Dear friends,
Tabitha had the metaport put in yesterday and everything went smooth. The doctor was pleased with the whole procedure and does not anticipate any problems after Tab is healed up. Tabitha also had a bone marrow biopsy done. This is just a precautionary procedure. We will not know anything about the biopsy result until next week. She is having lots of pain right now on her chest, due to the port placement, but the dr. says that its normal. She is taking medication for the pain. We appreciate your concern and prayers on her behalf. We will let you know more later. Thank you again and have a good day.

love,
Jimmy
