Need a new post

Wow friends, it's been a while! It seems life is full of so many things that demand our attention it is hard to keep up with everything! I am sure you can relate?

Well, I haven't updated since December...so it is time to do an update in a nutshell. January was a cold month but a good one. My mother-in-law Kathy bought all the Woodside girls tickets for Christmas to see Wicked in San Francisco! So it was Kathy, my sis-in-laws Emily, Andrea, and Teresa, my niece Kayleigh and me. We stayed in The Nob Hill Inn. It was basically an apartment; it had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a little kitchen. It was so adorable and cozy. We did a lot of walking around Fisherman's Warf, rode in my first taxi, and tried to find Matt Damon who was filming a movie 2 blocks up from our hotel, walked around China Town, walked on the Golden Gate Bridge, and saw Wicked which was an amazing performance. We had a great time just being together. If you haven't gone to San Francisco, you must go! It is a beautiful city! Of course, I am bias since that's where Tim and I spent our honeymoon ;)

February was good; nothing really to update there, March was a good month too. A few weeks ago, my parents drove to Winnemucca and I met them there and we spent the weekend together at a horse sale. It was so nice to be together, haven't seen them since Christmas so it was a nice opportunity! We just walked around the different western vendors, bought a few things, watched the horses, watched the dog show, laughed a lot and just had a really great time together. Let's see, what else has happened...oh yeah, Tim did the Donkey Basketball again at Wooster H.S. I posted a video on FB of it. It was a sight to see for sure! Good entertainment!

The end of March has brought me a big challenge. It may not seem like a big deal, or that much of a challenge, but it is. As some of you know, I work in a catalog call center so I talk for a living. I am also the manager so I have lots of other responsibilities with staff etc. Well, long story short, I have a hemorrhaged vocal cord (from a sneeze!!!...????) so I have Dr's orders to be on vocal rest. No yelling, screaming or whispering. Minimal speaking at an even tone. For three weeks!!!!! So far I have survived two days of no talking at work! They have been very supportive and have provided other jobs for me to do during this time which I am so thankful for. They gave me a dry-erase board to communicate on! It is really hard to say everything you want to say on a tiny dry erase board! It can be frustrating to not get your exact point across to people. So in trying to stay positive about my present state I know the Lord knows what we can handle and I am thankful knowing I can get through this with His help. It has humbled me to think about others who have permanent disabilities and how they might be challenged. My heart goes out to everyone who struggles with any disability. So for now, my focus is to not speak at all, get more rest, drink more water, and heal!

I hope all of you are doing well!

I know losing access to your voice is not fun, especially for you with your job and your love of singing! It might also feel kind of lonely not being able to talk to people much, so feel free to send me a FB message anytime you want! :) So does it hurt?? I hope you feel better!!!

Wow! I'm sorry you're having to deal with this! You have a good attitude, though. Praying you make it through the 3 weeks and are healed.
