Thursday

Worked yesterday. We started with six little ones and at the end of the day had only four. It was kind of a slow day, and sometimes those are nice, especially since I get to leave there and run straight over to the church that meets in Newnan to worship with them; they are great people.

Happy birthday to my friend Joan in College Station, TX!

Happy birthday to my friend Martha, with whom I'll work tomorrow.

Hope you feel better soon, Julie-- I'm sorry that you're ill.

Can any of you believe my husband? Between his blog and the White & Nerdy video I watched on YouTube, I have laughed so much in the past couple days. I imagine we'll see more Jell-O exploits at some time in the future..... do I really want that???
Thanks to Missy for making me think. :o)

Y'all have a blessed day.

"Welcome to Aggieland"

Texas A&M has a new promotional video, and I'd like you all to see it. You can click this link and a new window will open for KBTX, the local TV station in College Station. When you scroll down the page, a section will appear called "Featured Video" and one of the choices will be "Aggie Promotional Video." It is just gorgeous, and I hope y'all enjoy it.

10/10/06 7:00AM

Yesterday was Monday... 'nuff said.

Last night was good. We met for Monday night Bible study to learn about the issues that have divided the Lord's body over the years so that we may be all the more vigilant to keep those problems from plaguing us in the future. Our friend Mike did a great job, and I got to hug on her a lot, too. I went with only the oldest kiddo since Nick was feeling crummy with allergies and Chip would've just gone to sleep anyway.

When I got home I can hear Jason upstairs calling, "MaaaaaaaaMaaaaaaaaaaaaa..... Are you going to come watch TV with meeeeeeeeeeee?" Oh, he is so addicted to the new fall lineup. Me? Yes, I ran upstairs! We watched the episodes of "The Class" (cute), "Heroes" (love it) and "Justice" (how can you not love Victor Garber?), and then he fell asleep and I watched "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," which I like, but I don't think it's playing well with the rest of America. I love my TiVo!!

For all you "Office" lovers out there: Jason says he works for Dunder Mifflin. Literally. Last week, one of his (ahem) coworkers came in hobbling on a crutch, saying how much his foot really hurt from being (I know you're thinking that he stepped on his George Foreman grill, but no) sprained 5 days earlier. Poor dude. So, for today's photo, I give you:

Laugh if you will.

I did.

UPDATE for the afternoon crowd:

The doctor at the Employee health center last year said I look like Angelina Jolie. My dentist said first that I look like Angelina Jolie, but then changed his mind and said I look like Teri Hatcher. Then today, a girl at Card$mart said, "I know you probably get told this all the time, but did you know you look like Angelina Jolie???"

My reply: "Well, actually, most people say I look like my Dad."

Which I do.

Then she went on to tell me that a while back Chipper came into her store in the company of our friend Trisha, who watches over him while I'm at work. She said that he was making body-builder poses in the store, flexing his muscles and showing off. She said she had asked him who taught him to do such a thing, and that he had replied, "God did."

That's my baby.

Sounds like a good study. Paul,Heath,Anna and I have talked about starting a Bible study. I think that would be a good thing here. I am glad you are studying about the things that are dividing the church. Most people aren't aware of the things going on. I probably wouldn't be but, being married to a preacher I am. Your mom said you had some were aware of some things going on at FC. Could you email that to me. My email address is christy33@mindspring.com. I would appreciate it. Sorry to ramble. Hope you have a good day.

Stay posted-- Jason came home with the Tupperware Cake Taker empty. I said, "Where's the Jell-O?" He said, "Oh, in my wheel well and all over the parking lot. I ran over it with the truck and then did a Stapler-Jell-O burn out. We got it on video." Me: Dumbfounded stare, followed by, "You actually ran over the stapler???" uh, yup. "Ooooooooo-Kaaaaaay." Them dudes'r goofy. But, like I said, stay posted-- maybe I'll get him to post the video here on the blog-- that would be AWE-SOME!

This is going to be such a good study I can't wait! Man I had the giggles last night after the question "what year was the church founded?" and mom's answer was NO! On This Lord's Day

We assembled, and what a blessing it was. I am really relishing the class about Jesus' humble human beginnings, and Mitch preached a wonderful lesson about the church at Laodicaea as mentioned in the third chapter of the Revelation.

I hugged and cried with my blessed friend Julie and thanked her for leading me here to Pleo. I am so inspired by all of you, and I have been encouraged in the last week to draw closer to Jesus and better understand what he wants me to be. Thank you, all of you, for helping me. I love you all.

Matthew 12:35 : "A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things."

For all of you who asked to see Chipper, here are all three of my little men-- just taken this afternoon!

Friday, or Wow-- What a Thursday!!

Good morning friends! I am so tickled that so many of you have chosen to come visit my blog; you are all so sweet and warm my heart.

Nick was so sweet this morning. Tad left early for Broadcast Class, and Nick got dressed, brushed his teeth and then sat down to start copying all his sight / spelling words all by himself. Chipper's still sleeping (yea!) and I have a little quiet time that I can spend reading my Bible and in prayer. Today looks to be a lovely day, especially so after yesterday!

Wow. Four sick babies, four well babies, four deliveries (two of them c-sections) and four discharges. Two nurses. I will say that we had some fabulous help from our coworkers: the mother-baby nurses and our sweet L&D scrub tech. They helped us feed our little babies, change their diapers, and take their temperatures. Our great pediatric nurse came and started an IV on a baby that needed some help, and it helped us immensely. I also know that God was with us, giving us strength and helping us to know what to do-- especially when we had tried and tried to get some blood from one kid and all seemed futile, but then I found a vein and was able to get her labwork done. I finally got to leave the hospital last night at nearly 8:30.

So.... today I'm taking it easy, you know... sweeping floors, washing clothes, wiping tables, cleaning my stove... Mom stuff. I hope you all have a wonderful Friday.

Is Texas A & M ashamed of their "Mechies"? Why aren't they a mascot, too? One of our friends at Eastside here went there to school, maybe I should ask him. You would probably not approve - his family are apparently Alabama fans, since I have seen both his children and wife wearing Crimson Tide apparel.

Wednesday

Today is Wednesday, and in Texas History today, Texas A&M University opened in 1876! Gig 'em, Ags!

Nick is headed to the Fabulous Fox Theater in downtown Atlanta today for the first grade's field trip to see Junie B. Jones, First Grader-- LIVE! He's very exicted.

On November third I will accompany Tad's class on their field trip to the gold mines in Dahlonega; I am an official chaperone!!

Chip is still sleeping peacefully, and I'm having a cup of coffee, looking forward to a great day.

Hey, this is Kerry, her sister. My 3rd grader went to see Junie B. Jones here on Monday, and he liked it. I didn't get to go (I work in the school cafeteria and didn't get a sub), but my mom went along..I'm going with my son who is a senior, on his class trip to the northeast, in November. I got to go with Holly 2 yrs. ago, so I'm real excited about making that trip again!
