Summer is for reading!
Anyone taking a really cool vacation this summer?

Cape San Blas, FL--renting a house on a very secluded stretch of beach. In one direction, there is nothing but 10 miles of state park. My parents and my family and our dogs are going--it's a "dog beach". We'll be kayaking, bicycling, hiking, and beach-bumming!

Nothing big planned. We are going to meet up with my best friend and her husband and stay a couple of days in Brown County Indiana. And then we might head over to Illinois on July 4th weekend with some camping with the family. We'l see.
But I am so excited that it is summer. Over this last winter, I wasn't sure it was ever coming!

Okay, we are now looking for a car for Joy! We've found some reasonably priced ones, but there's been a problem with each of them so far. It has to run "reasonably well," one that will of course be safe to drive 3-4 hours and back thru-out the next 8 months. And it must be under $3000! I know there is one out there it's just a matter of finding the right person that has one that we find! ha

Kittia is STILL looking for a job to no avail. She'll be on the hot trail again this week fervently applying (if there are any places left...) and calling to check on her applications! We have a Jo-Ann Fabrics opening soon, and it would be wonderful if she could get on the "set-up" team as they open the store; but she's not heard anything yet.

Joycelyn is enjoying her job and adjusting to being on her feet 4-5 hours at a time!

Still no job for Bob! :(

car shopping is not my fave.

We've had our share of car issues over the past few months. I think they'll all be resolved by the end of summer at the latest.

Trying to find good used cars anymore at a fair price is much tougher these days thanks to President Obama's Cash for Clunkers program. Leaves people like you and me in a serious lurch. :-/

My sister Sara is also car shopping -- she said all the small cars are going like hotcakes because of the gas prices and because of the tsunami (apparently that affected supply, though I thought Toyota had US plants).

A lot of car companies with U.S. plants still use a ton of parts (especially anything electronic) that are manufactured in and shipped from Japan.

It's really nice to have my family of four together and adjusting to FOUR adults in the house;
I know the next 3, 6, and 8 Months is going to go really fast.

The Wedding Date is set for January 6, 2012!!!

Off we go...Going to Florida to pick up youkn owwho. It's going to be an interesting summer with everyone looking for jobs, no studying, no "dorm life" and just Mom and Dad!

that Bob could take. He really can do almost anything! ha

I would love to be making the trip this week. There's a lot going on down there that I want to be a part of. Instead, Andrew is staying for the Maymester and we don't see him until June 7th. Have a good trip and if you see my boys, tell them I said hi!

Have the girls check into Northside medical...or any of the doctor's offices around town, they can usually use filing clerks. Also they can check into the daycare's or the YMCA summer camps (I worked part time one summer for that). Just some suggestions of places that might not be as bombarded as other places for summer jobs.
