1st email, Wednesday, March 26th:
Dear All,
We are on vacation here in Michigan this week. I need to let everyone here some news to keep someone in your prayers. The church at Palmer Rd. here in Michigan got a new preacher, Scott Parker. He was in horrible accident last evening. He, his wife, and another couple from church (Frank and Jackie Wiser) were on their way to a Bible study. His windshield was making a noise, when he stopped to check it, a semi hit him, he was actually standing right next to his SUV, touching it. The semi threw him in front of it, it practically tore his leg off. Thanks be to God there was a trama nurse driving by, she stopped, held the artery to keep him from bleeding to death. They of course rushed him to Grand Blanc hospital in Michigan, where they had to amputate his leg above the knee. As long as everying else it alright, he will recover. They, of course, will be charging the semi driver, not sure with at this time, but it still doesn't take away the fact about the accident and loss of his leg. They have no medical insurance, so don't know what will happen, if the semi truck driver's insurance will take care of this. If anything else developes, or anyone needs any more info., feel free to e-mail us.

2nd email, April 2nd:
All,
Sorry to all of you who initially heard of this event through me and who haven't received an update on Scott's condition. Below are two reports forwarded initially from Tasha Stuve who is a member of the Palmer Road church of Christ. From these reports and others I have heard, he is doing much better now and the prayers of all the brethren around the country have obviously been playing a role in that. Let's all be thankful and praise God for this. And let our prayers continue to go up for the church there and the responsibility they have of being a light in a state with such few Christians. Also in need of our prayers is a woman from the same congregation whose son is recovering from a 30 ft. fall off a parking garage. Last I knew he was still in critical condition. He is not currently a Christian but apparently had been going to church with his mother a few times recently. I will try to keep everyone up to date with this situation as well as I get more information. We serve an awesome God and all things are possible with Him, so let's keep those prayers coming!!
In Him,
Luke Jones
Hello all,
The latest update is that Scott was very awake and alert today. Tricia went in to talk to him this afternoon and he communicated with her with his hands and she would then guess what he was talking about. He
held up one finger then two, obviously wanting to know if he had one or two legs. Tricia held up one finger and she said he thought about it for a second and then shook his head "yes" that he understood, then she talked to him about being able to get a prosthetic leg and he shook his head "yes" that he understood that he would be able to get one. He, somehow, wanted to know how they were doing as far as money goes, and she reassured him that they were being blessed far beyond what she thought they could ever be. She told him the support and love the christian family has shown them has been overwhelming and told Scott not to worry. She told him people have been sending money left and right and that they are being taken care of. Thank you to everyone for all their prayers and support! Please pass this on to everyone you know that is praying for them. He is doing very very well and let's pray that he continues to progress in this way. Joe and Paulette bought a magnetic board and magnetic alphabet letters that Tricia can take back to Scott so he can use the letters to communicate. They will try that later today. He was tired from communicating with Tricia earlier and so they are letting him rest right now. The ventilator will hopefully be taken out within the next 24 hours. Please pray for that - that everything goes smoothly. I guess Scott has been getting anxious when they get ready to do that and his breathing is very shallow, so that's why they have not succeded in getting that tube out yet.
Thanks again!
