We have thought about space heaters... not sure if that would just spike the electric bill instead of the gas bill (?). We finally turned the heat on last night, but I turned it back off when I left for work this morning. Hopefully we can at least conserve when we're gone during the day! ;)

- make apple butter. YUUUUM! Then send me some. ;)
- wax leaves! (then send some to me!)
- crochet or knit scarves
- bring a scripture is always fun. It's fun when you pick a topic, like, bring a scripture pertaining to encouragement, or working as unto the Lord (I think that would be ultra motivating!), or Where/How do you see God in your everyday life....

It's new slippers!! I finally have new slippers!!! Dearfoams slip-ons, w/ blue and lilac and lime green stripes across the top!! Ah-h-h says my tootsies!!! And on sale, too. Slippers are hard to buy for someone else; such a personal thing I think.

I also got new shoes for work. My feet are gonna be so happy. It was way past time. John & I headed to Terre Haute to Kohl's after work today. After shopping, we ate at Fazoli's. Not sure if that is spelled correctly?? It was delicious! Baked spag/combo w/ a salad. The crutons are the-e-e best ever.

Anyway, tomorrow New Balance for my hard working feet :)

my feet are happiest with no shoes! Sometimes socks for temperature related comfort. Although... sometimes comfy shoes are easier on my feet if I'm on them for a long time. :)

Soup & Salad at Olive Garden is *fantastic*!! I'm especially fond of the potato and sausage soup... can't remember the italian name for it...

Good idea--I used to be so good at making out menus--actually when the kids were little I planned a month at a time and shopped a month at a time. Only picking up milk and bread and juice if necessary. Also used coupons for big bargains. I think if I wasn't working I would do better- but because I am working I need to be more organized. I keep thinking I might get that way again some day.

A New Holiday...

Yes, Kristopher, suggested a new holiday...orchard day! We started a new tradition which is going to Anderson's Orchard in the fall, so he called it our holiday! Unfortunately Shawnee couldn't come this time; is there an orchard in BG for you to attend w/ friends?!

We bought apple cider, pumpkins, gourds, popping corn, rhubarb for a birthday pie, more gourds...and of course apples! We enjoyed warm apple cider, and a carmel apple! The weather was great!!! We took pictures beside the pumpkins in the beautiful sunshine. After a walk thru the craft tent, we enjoyed a lovely lunch then headed home w/ our treasures.

We visited some more, popped some of our corn, and then watched a movie after dark. All in all a great "new holiday"!!!

My favorite part is just being with my husband while we enjoy the beautiful day together!!! Relaxing, holding hands and being in the sunshine was great.

Tell me about your favorite fall activity...

Hi Everyone out there in Pleo!!!

We rec'd a gift of early fall, here in Greencastle. Even though the calendar says Fall officially starts later this week, the temps say Fall is here!! There are so many things to love about fall:
-the colors
-the smells
-the cooler temps
-no humidity
-orchards
-apple cider
-soup weather!!
-apple/pumpkin/raisin pies
-walks in the leaves that crunch
Oh I love fall! It reminds of when my kids where younger, and we'd collect leaves and draw leaf people to share w/ the shut-ins!
What do y'all love about Fall...or hate...if that's possible.

People were dressed in costume for the time period. For instance, there was a teacher in a 1 room schoolhouse, a blacksmith, etc. I liked the homemade notecards-with photos on the front that the person had taken; some decorated gift/treat bags (sometimes you can buy them just as cheap as than you can make them. There were some little fall decorations to sit around, things like that. One guy had wire & he took it & twisted it into letters & spelled out your name (all in 1 piece.) At the end, he could make a heart or a slot for a picture.

I love the fall and jumping in the leaves...I remember when Shawnee and I made a huge pile of leaves under your tree and jumped from the tree into the leaves....AHHH the memories!!!

They are soft lenses. In fact, when I went back to the dr. Wed, she gave me a different brand to try, and they are even thinner! They're kinda hard to get in, b/c they like to stick to my finger and not my eyes! But, once they're in, I don't hardly notice them at all! So far, the new ones have been better, but they're starting to bother me today, so we'll see.
