I know, I know, waaaay tooo long since I've updated!! Life has just been... life!! Crazy busy but all good!! I have been feeling WONDERFUL!! (insert giddy laugh!) I really didn't know how badly I felt until my diagnosis and my drugs kicked in!! It's a little depressing to think of all of the time I wasted feeling so bad just b/c I didn't go to the Dr. I really just thought that everyone hurt and I just needed to suck it up!! So, now I'm exercising!! I KNOW!! And the class that I go to 4 days a week for an hour is called Boot Camp!! Lol!! I still despise exercise, but I feel so good!! HA! This is my 5th week! (patting self on back!) I've gained a pound... yeah... ah well! It's not about the weight, really. Though losing would be a welcome bonus, come on!

Mitchell has 1 1/2 days left of 1st grade. I cannot believe it!! My handsome little boy will be a 2nd grader, yikes!! Where, oh where does the time go?! He's playing baseball this year for the first time and doing very well!! And he's so cute in his uniform!! The school nurse called me this morning about his nasty tick bite on his leg. The nurse and I are on a first name basis, sad. Anyhow, Mitch is a tick magnet!! I cannot keep them things off of him!! Any helpful hints would be welcome and extremely appreciated!! He looks like he has chicken pocks, he has so many!! He has one on his ankle that is infected and gross. We almost took him to the E.R. this weekend. We've been lancing it and medicating it, per a nurse friend's instructions. Say a little prayer that it'll heal for him, please!

I signed Mabry up for Pre-K the other day, wah!! I'll have 2 days to myself next year. You would think I'd be excited but... it's kinda sad. She's gettin' so big and so sassy lately!! She gets funnier all the time too!! She picked out her own outfit today and boy was she sumthin'!! I watched everyone in Publix smile as they watched her walk by!! She had on a sundress with a crazy print that tied on the shoulders with grogain ribbon, hot pink, of course. Her shoes were hot pink and covered in glitter. Bought them that way. She had a huge pink bow in her crazy crazy blonde curly hair and a purple princess purse!! Makes me laugh just thinkin' about it!!

Here's your half an update!! Gotta get the boy from school!!

I'm so happy to hear from you! I know all about crazy-good! Took me 5 months to update (and will probably take everyone that long to read it! :). I'm gonna have to get some advice from you about the fibromyalgia. I've never pursued it, but I'll bet I could benefit from treatment, too! Any helpful advice would be appreciated!

Hello long lost friends!! Hope your holidays were filled with family, friends and fun!! Ours definitely were! We journeyed up to Ohio to spend Christmas with my family and had a great time! Brian's new schedule has been such a blessing! Right now he has weekends and holidays off! Re-bid is next month though :( I'm just praying that it won't be afternoons. Mitchell just needs his Daddy. He doesn't get to see him except on his days off when he works that schedule. It's just tough on us. Right now I'm just thankful for this blessing! Brian really loves the 4-10 schedule though! I'm proud of him!

We learned a couple of days ago that our renters are moving. They are in our Florida home that we weren't able to sell when we moved to TN. This leaves us in a bit of a bind. We are trying to get the house on the market by the weekend to see if we can sell it. I'd be telling a story if I didn't say we're a bit stressed. If you think about it, say a little prayer for us about this. We'd appreciate it!!

In other news, our family has discovered the Wii!! Yup, Mitchell got one for Christmas and I just had no idea how very fun it would be! We have Wii Sports, Wii Play, and Mario Cart!! All very entertaining!! Mabry said this morning, "Mommy, can I play the weed?" I of course responded, "Uh NO! Oh, Wii? Not right now baby. We are going to take Mitchell to school." What are your favorite Wii games?

Let's see, (I'm trying to give quick updates b/c this is the last thing that I should be doing right now, eep!) I started doing Yoga a couple of days ago. Let me just tell you, I h.a.t.e to exercise. But, the Doc said I need to. I saw a rheumatologist on Monday. He diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia and did more blood tests for Parvo, (basically 5ths disease in adults), and another rheumatoid arthritis test. He thinks it's just in the early stages and not showing up yet. I'm ok with all of it. It's better to know. And it could be a lot worse, I figure. I still feel so very blessed every day with all that God does for us! Somedays my hands hurt so bad that I can't peel potatoes. And you know what, it's ok! Betty Crocker peels them, cuts them up, dehydrates them and puts them in a box, with seasoning! All I have to do is add water and a Tablespoon of butter!! You just figure it out!! And, you know I'm not big on drugs, but they do help sometimes. I hope one day to figure out something more homeopathic, but if I don't, that's ok too!! I like to get out of bed in the morning! And my family likes me not so grouchy! So, for now, drugs it is!!

Well, I'm depressing today!! Sorry about that!! In really exciting news, I got a new Bible for my birthday!! Well, my birthday isn't until tomorrow, but I got to go pick it out on Sunday!! I've always wanted one of those really detailed, obnoxiously heavy study Bibles with all of the maps and pictures and side notes!! Well, I found it! It's the Life Application Study Bible!! It ROCKS!! I spent about 2 hours putting those little tabs on it yesterday! (yes, I need tabs! 'cause I like to find it fast, that's why!) And dontcha just love the smell of a new Bible?! Do you know how much those great smelling Bibles cost?! Whew! I had no idea! Ahh well, money well spent! And Brian doesn't have to stress about what to get me for my Birthday now! I KNOW that he thinks it was money well spent ;) He tried to steel it from me in Church on Sunday night. I snatched it from him! After church he says, "a little selfish with that new Bible, aren't ya?!" See, it really was a great gift! :)

Alright, alright. You know what I'm gonna say. Dishes and laundry are beckoning. I'm thankful for both! If you made it all the way thru, thanks for reading! I'll try to be more entertaining on my next quarterly blog entry ;)

  • narey_kay
Aw..I have the Life App Bible too! I have had it for like 10 years so I know that your updated version is so much better! My husband steals it from em all the time. He loves it too. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!

It is always so good to hear from you. I am sorry you are feeling sore. Hopefully, they will find something to help. I can relate to you on so many levels. Wii is big at our house, too. Glad you are having fun with it. A new Bible! Those are so much fun! It is a little hard to break them in, but just get to turning those pages, and all will be well! I love what you can learn from the extra studies they have in there. Stay warm. Maybe one of these days, it will get warm enough to where we can come out and meet!

11/21/08 9:40AM

I've gotta get this computer out of the kitchen. I really can't stand for my kitchen to be dirty. And when I sit down at the computer I can never justify my time spent on it because there's always something to do in the kitchen. First on the list, make a sign that says "NO SHOES" to put at the end of my counter! I have no idea how they get there! Shoes... in the kitchen... good grief! I'm considering teaching a couple of little people how to do dishes too. But, I'm funny about my dishes. Iiiii don't know. Maybe we'll start with the broom?

So, life is still busy. Not with football anymore, just replaced by holiday prep and Dr.'s appointments and other everyday life sort of stuff. I'm thankful to be feeling some better. Still haven't been to a follow-up appointment, but drugs help. I can't decide if that's fortunately, or unfortunately. I kinda prefer alternative medicine as opposed to "try these drugs and let me know", kind of medicine. Went to a reflexologist and it really helped the pain in my hands. (yes, she worked on my feet and it helped my hands!) She thinks my body is full of toxins and that I should go to an accupuncturist. I'm considering it. I used to get a little squeemish when I heard about it, but now I feel like it just may be better than being on drugs my whole life. Anybody ever been?

Enough about that! Christmas is right around the corner! I love Christmas time! It's just so much fun to have kids at the age to believe in magic!! I love how their little faces light up when they talk about Santa and Christmas!! I just so wish that they would stop showing toy commercials. Mabry thinks she wants everything. Mitchell has decided that he wants a Wii. Ugghh, those things are expensive. I had the talk with him about there not being enough for all of the kids, blah, blah. He responds with, "but, Santa can make them". Little smarty pants. The kids' too smart for his own good! If he keeps it up I'm gonna... make him do dishes, or somethin'! Mabry and I get to go have lunch with him today! It's their Thanksgiving dinner! I'm not eatin' it! I remember what cafeteria food looks and tastes like! Bleeech! I hope that I can act like an adult and not make faces at the table.

In other news, we paid off one of our credit cards!! Hooray for lessons learned, boo for stupidity. Take it from me kids, credit cards are B.A.D!! 1 down, 1 to go. You can bet I'm callin' Dave Ramsey when we get all of our debt paid of and screamin', "WE'RE DEBT FREE!!!" But first, we still own a home in Florida and property taxes are due. How can anyone afford to live in that state?

Oh, and Brian's new supervisor called him yesterday and told him that the big supervisor put his name in for a position on the flex team!! It's a drug unit that works 4, 10 hour nights! You usually aren't even elligable (man I can't spell that word) for 2 years!! I'm so proud of him!! He would really like to go to 4-10's!! He'll have to interview for it and all. It's just nice that they're recognizing him for his hard work.

Alright. Since my child labor law has yet to be enforced, the dishes call. Suppose I'll try to get them done before I go have lunch with the boy! Have a wonderful weekend!!

    Eligible.
Would a cleanse help you remove toxins? I've been wanting to do one.
I gave Gabriel the Toys R Us big book one day to keep him busy and he circled just about everything! When I told him we just didn't have the money to buy all those things, he said "Santa doesn't BUY toys, he MAKES them." Oops!

I make Caleb (who's almost 5) get down on the floor with a hand broom and dustpan and sweep up his crumbs. There are always crumbs on my floor when he's done eating so now he has to pick them up! Of course I usually go back over it when he's not looking, but maybe he'll learn to hold over better!! :)

That's great about Brian!! 4-10s would be great for your family! Sorry you're in pain. :( I'd try the accupuncture!

Thank you all so much for your prayers!! All of my test results came back fine. Sooooo, I have another appointment in a month. The journey continues. It seems that this is the way it goes with me and Doctors. "We can't find anything wrong. Here's some drugs. Come back in a month and tell me how you feel." Sorry... I'm feeling a little frustrated. I was just wondering if I could ask for your prayers. I have been to 2 Doctors this week for a realm of complaints. I had 6 or 7 viles of blood drawn today to figure out what is going on. The truth is, I haven't felt real great in a very long time. Things have just gotten worse lately. I'm not big on Doctors or drugs. Hopefully the bloodwork will reveal something. I just want to know what it is so that I can hopefully get to feeling better. They think it's along the lines of Rheumatoid arthritis or Fibromyalgia. I have never tolerated drugs very well and was given one prescription on Monday that made me feel worse, and 2 today. We'll see how that goes. I felt like I should say why it is that I haven't been on much lately (in addition to being so busy) and see if you wouldn't mind sending up a prayer that it's nothing too serious and that I'll be able to feel better soon. I would appreciate it so very much :) Thank you friends!!

Norrie, I am so sorry you are feeling so bad. I hope it is just the seasonal stuff getting you down. There are so many allergans around here that can make you feel so bad. I have suffered the same kinds of things every since I was at FC 28 years ago! I had a bad, bad case of mono, and I think it did something to my body. I have a lot of trouble with fatigue. Rain makes it worse. I have never had the allergy testing done, but I am almost 100% sure that I am allergic to mold, hay, and dust. There is a lot of all that in TN! Try not to let your mind wonder to worst case scenarios. Chances are, it is one of these annoying things rather than something serious. This is going to sound maternal, but have you been taking vitamins and eating a well-rounded diet? Iron and B vitamins can help a lot when you just feel draggy all the time. I find I sleep better, too, when I take my iron. I have to take the Slow Fe stuff so I don't get all "bound up," but I sleep like a baby when I remember to take it, and I have insomnia when I do not. Sorry this is long. I am praying for you. Let us know if we can do anything at all!
